Term 4 at Maitland Basketball Association has Biddy ballers vying to be team of the week. Thanks to the support of NAHYDT each team of the week player receives a skipping rope to enable them to work on their fitness. This week award goes to the Super Heroes one of our newest teams. Well done guys.

Maitland Basketball Association will be holding a Basketball Skills and Multi - Sport Funday on Tuesday 13th October. Maitland are well known for numbers of over 120 children attending their camps. So book in early. The first 120 participants will receive a Cooler Bag, Skipping Rope and Drink Bottle Proudly sponsored by ResCo Services Pty Ltd and NAHYDT.

This week's Biddy Ball Player of the Week at Maitland Basketball Association is Sam from the "Monks." Sam caught the coaches eye with some fine athleticism on the court getting himself into many a great defensive position. For Sam's efforts he receives a new basketball courtesy of ResCo Service Pty and NAHYDT.

Maitland Basketball Association's Biddy Ball Player of the Week is Kayla from the newly formed Chips team. Kayla has recently returned to Basketball following the end of the soccer season and immediately showed she has what it takes to be a promising basketballer. Kayla was presented with a new basketball courtesy of the support and sponsorship of ResCo Services and NAHYDT. Well Done Kayla.

Week 5's player of the week is Ben from Maitland's newest Biddy ball team "THE BOYS". The team consists of all new registrations with players wearing the player pack singlets with pride. Ben was selected by Jessica Day the competitions coordinator as it was her last week at the Stadium. Maitland Basketball Term 3 biddy ball has kicked off with loads of smiles and none bigger than Anna from the Archers when she was awarded the ResCo Player of the Week basketball. Hannah has steadily improved throughout 2009 and is really enjoying playing. Well done Anna and congratulations.

The stage 5 and 6 students studying childcare run volunteer playgroups every week and constantly doing active programs with the young children that come in for the playgroups. Our students raise money to fund the playgroups and to be able to resource their playgroup with sporting good would be a very worthwhile venture for the students..

The Maitland Mustangs 2009 Future Stars program supported by ResCo began on Thursday with a rush of new talent eager to learn the basics of Basketball. The 8 week program for 8 to 10 year old children seeks to create an interest in Basketball with a view to identify the future players in the Maitland Mustangs.

Thursday 26th March BNSW’s Head ITCP Coach and 2010 Australian under 17 women’s coach Peter Lonergan presented an entertaining and very informative Coaching Clinic at Maitland to over 30 people including CJL and WJL coaches, Local High School Coaches, Maitland’s ResCo Players as Coaches Scholarship holders and the some of the parents of the Mustangs.

This weeks player of the week Jordan from the "Skittles" is surrounded by some of the Biddy ball players excited that Jordan was named player of the Week. His passing and attempts at making layups are the skills that saw him come to the attention of the ResCo Players as Coaches scholarship holders.

It is great to see all the kids in their training singlets sponsored by ResCo Servies and by the look of the red cheeks and the smiles on their faces they have been working hard and enjoying themselves. The program still has 4 weeks to run each Tuesday until 7th April.

As part of the Newcastle and Hunter Youth Development Trust Term Three Healthy Hoops Program. Scone Junior Touch Football Juniors will start off the next season with a sports training kit donated by ResCo Services Pty Ltd. Another event supporting active kids in the coalfields.

Our Thanks to ResCo Services Pty Ltd for provding us with 12 agility poles , 100 coloured cone markers, gear bags, kicking tees, footballs and some whistles. We have made up coaches kits containing 20 cone markers , 1 football, 1 kicking tee, 1 whistle, that all go in a gear bag for the coaches of the 10s,12s,13/14s years age group. Regards Stuart GJRL.

Maitland's 14 Women Div 1 are ready to go this weekend with the start of the CJL. Coach Stuart Hancock had the girls hone their shooting skills at training this week with the Shootaway provided by ResCo Services Pty Ltd and the NAHYDT.

Following the success from the past, ResCo Services Pty Ltd believe in investing in Youth Development Programs for the Future in assisting young people to gain their certificates in Refereeing and Coaching in a variety of sports. The Newcastle and Hunter Youth Development Trust in partnership with ResCo Services Pty Ltd were delighted today to support the Hunter Sports High School in 2009. Peter Murray Chairman of NAHYDT met with James Pascoe Director of Sport to hand over a cheque to ensure the Breakfast Club at the school will continue over the next 12 months. With most TSP children travelling a distance to attend the school, a healthy breakfast at school is greatly appreciated. The breakfast club is open to all students attending H.S.H..S.

Ten young coaches in 2008 gained their Level 1 Coaching Certificates and have been assisting in Learn to Play and Biddy Ball at Maitland Basketball Association through the year. With the National Schools Basketball Tournament coming to an end we would like to thank ResCo Services Pty Ltd on behalf of Hunter Sports High School TSP Basketball Program for supplying the whole 5 teams with new uniforms for the games. HSHS students train at Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Stadium each week as part of the TSP program.
