Denny, Wolf, tom, & everyone! Goodnight, Anne!
A bit rainy.
It'll make our grass grow! (Not especially a good thing since our mower is still waiting for the service guys - two more weeks!) Luckily our neighbor is letting us borrow his!

An Idiot's Idiot
Police in Radnor, Pennsylvania, interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message 'He's lying' was placed in the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't telling the truth. Believing the 'lie detector' was working, the suspect confessed.

Giving When it Counts

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, 'Yes, I’ll do it if it will save her..' As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, “Will I start to die right away?' Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her.
You see understanding and attitude, after all, is everything.

Seven Wonders of the World

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present Seven Wonders of the World. Though there was some disagreement, the following got the most votes:

The Pyramids
The Taj Mahal
The Grand Canyon
The Panama Canal
The Empire State Building
St. Peter's Basilica
The Great Wall of China

The teacher noted that one quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet. So, she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.
The girl replied: 'Yes, a little'.
The teacher said, 'Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.'
The girl hesitated, then read: 'I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:

To touch
To taste
To see
To hear
She paused and then added,

To feel,
To laugh and
To love.

The room was so full of silence you could have heard a pin drop.
Those things we overlook as simple and ordinary are truly wondrous. This is a gentle reminder that the most precious things in life cannot be
bought nor can they be found OUTSIDE of ourselves.

It's time to start thinking about planting our gardens...

A beautiful woman loved growing tomatoes, but couldn't seem to get her tomatoes to turn red. One day while taking a stroll she came upon a gentleman neighbor who had the most beautiful garden full of huge red tomatoes.

The woman asked the gentleman, 'What do you do to get your tomatoes red?'

The gentleman responded, 'Well, twice a day I stand in front of my tomato garden and expose myself, and my tomatoes turn red from blushing so much.'

The woman was so impressed; she decided to try doing the same thing to her tomato garden to see if it would work. So twice a day for two weeks she exposed herself to her garden hoping for the best. One day the gentleman was passing by and asked the woman, 'By the way, how did you make out? Did your tomatoes turn red?'

'No,' she replied, 'but my cucumbers are enormous.'
