This exhilarating 45-minute boat cruise will get you up close and personal with the largest mainland seal colony in Australia with over 2500 Australian and Long-Nosed fur seals.

  • Getting to us

    A 15 minute stroll along the scenic Great South West walk is essential to access our iconic boat shed and jetty where the tour will depart from. This path is not wheel chair or pram/stroller friendly as sections include stairs.

  • Suitable to all ages

    Seals by sea tours is suitable to all ages who can access our jetty. Please keep in mind that rough sea conditions may make the trip uncomfortable to some, however we do not operate in unsafe sea conditions which we determine on the day.

FAQs

  • Absolutely! In the unlikely event that sea spray may get you wet then we will let you know prior to the trip so that you can bring waterproof protection for your photography gear.

  • This trip is predominately to see seals however many forms of ocean birds are spotted and if you’re lucky then we often see the odd pod of dolphins. Orcas and whales have been sighted but are much more rare.

  • We recommend wearing comfortable clothes suitable to the weather conditions forecasted that day. In the unlikely event that we will get wet from potential sea spray in windy/rough conditions then we will recommend bringing a waterproof jacket on the day.

  • Yes! The seal colony is home to over 2500 Australian and Long-Nosed Fur Seals who are there all year round!

  • The first pups are born in mid/late November and by early January there are hundreds in the colony.

  • Unfortunately we no longer have swimming with the seals as an option due to the risks involved with it.
