The Great Southern Ocean

Enjoy the visual wonder of the Great Southern Ocean immediately outside your front door.

Make your visit a short holiday or just relax in and around the township of Robe, a pristine Victorian-era experience on the Limestone Coast region of South Australia.

Stretching between the southern reaches of the Coorong National Park and the Victorian border with South Australia, the Limestone Coast is one of the most-visited regions in South Australia outside of Adelaide. Famous for its food, including fresh crayfish (lobster) and its high quality wines, the Limestone Coast also offers some remarkably undeveloped coastal retreats with great surfing beaches.

The township of Robe is one of these coastal treasures, where you can spend your time discovering the history of this part of the world (it is one of South Australia's earliest settlements and was the State Governor's preferred summer retreat in the mid-1800's), or you could spend a lazy few hours browsing in one or more of the fine local art galleries or quaint little shops offering new treasures and used bric-a-brac.

Nearby are fabulous tourist attractions such as the Coonawarra wine district, the school of Saint Mary McKillop in Penola, the Great Blue Lake in Mount Gambier and the magical caves of Tantanoola.

You'll also find modern residential canal estates at Cape Jaffa, enjoy the fresh, invigorating wines of the the Mount Benson wine district and be amazed by the natural, untouched beauty of the southern stretches of Australia's Coorong National Park.

Robe Resort is an exciting new family home, also available as a holiday house rental, that will offer you an opportunity to relax and unwind in this unspoilt part of South Australia. Architecturally-designed to be accessible for wheelchairs and for anybody who find stairs a problem, Robe Resort can be enjoyed by anyone.

Go surfing near Doorway Rock just a 2 minute walk across the road, or take a 12 minute walk for a swim in nearby Guichen Bay or an 18 minute walk to visit Robe's main shopping and eating precinct. Alternatively, if warmth is your want in the cooler weather, be massaged by the soothing warm water jets in Robe Resort's heated swim spa. If you still have energy to spare, have a game of table tennis in the Games Room. Or maybe just retire to a read a book or listen to music in any of the quiet spaces throughout the house.
