Neurointerventionist

Dr Jason Wenderoth undertook fellowship training in interventional neuroradiology at Royal Perth Hospital and Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford. He established the neurointerventional services at Prince of Wales/Sydney Children’s Hospital and Liverpool Hospital in 2005.

Dr Wenderoth has supervised the training of well-established Neurointerventionists in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and the USA.

Meet Dr. Andrew Cheung BSc (Med), MBBS (Hons 1), FRANZCR, CCINR.

Neurointerventionist

Dr Andrew Cheung is an Australian fellowship trained interventional neuroradiologist. He was raised in Sydney, and is fluent in English and Cantonese. He completed his radiology training at the Prince of Wales and Sydney Children’s Hospitals and completed his diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology training at the Neurological Intervention and Imaging Service of Western Australia (NIISWA).

Meet Dr. Nathan W. Manning BApSci, BSci (Hons), MBBS, FRANZCR, CCINR.

Neurointerventionist

Dr Nathan Manning graduated from University of Melbourne Medical School in 2004. He undertook Basic Surgical Training at Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2006 and advanced Radiology training in 2008. In 2012 Dr. Manning commenced his fellowship training in Interventional Neuroradiology at Royal Melbourne Hospital. In 2014 Dr Manning undertook two further fellowships in Interventional Neuroradiology at Columbia Medical Centre, New York, New York. Dr Manning returned to Australia joining SNIS in July 2017.

Meet Dr. Justin Whitley MBChB FRANZR EBIR CCINR

Neurointerventionist

Dr Whitley obtained his medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 2004. He subsequently relocated to Queensland, Australia where he completed his specialist Radiology training. This was followed by Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiology fellowships at Royal Brisbane, Royal Melbourne and Gold Coast University Hospitals.

Dr Whitley worked at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane before moving to Sydney where he is now appointed at Prince of Wales and Liverpool Hospitals. His areas of interest include aneurysm repair, dural AV fistulas and acute stroke treatment.

Meet Dr. Alexander McQuinn B.Phys (Hons), BMBS, FRANZCR, EBIR, CCINR

Neurointerventionist

Dr Alexander McQuinn is a fellowship trained interventional neuroradiologist. He grew up in country Victoria, then moved to Adelaide where he completed his medical degree and specialty training in radiology. He then relocated to Sydney where he completed post graduate fellowship training in interventional radiology and interventional neuroradiology.

He has current appointments as a Visiting Medical Officer at Liverpool Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Nepean Hospital. His areas of interest include aneurysm repair, dural AV fistula and acute stroke treatment.

Dr McQuinn is certified to practice Interventional Neuroradiology by the CCINR.

Meet Dr. Mark Parsons B.Med (University of Newcastle), PhD (University of Melbourne), FRACP (Neurology), FAAHMS

Neurologist

Professor Parsons is an internationally recognised leader in Stroke Medicine, and a highly sought-after speaker, instructor and mentor, both nationally and internationally, in all aspects of clinical Neuroscience. He has just been appointed as the inaugural Professor of Medicine and Neurology at UNSW South Western Sydney Clinical School. He is also a Conjoint Professor of Neurology at University of Newcastle.

Despite his academic achievements, Professor Parsons is first and foremost a clinician, and previously had a busy private practice Consulting in Neurology in Maitland, NSW (his home-town), and subsequently then in Melbourne. He is delighted to have joined Sydney Neurointerventional Specialists. Although he has special interests in Stroke, and Concussion, he is happy to consult on any neurological problem.
