Whereas the modern pattern replacements are (like the uppers) a sloppy fit on the bolt, and the inserts are a tad too long so when butted up against each other the special washer does not cleanly locate in the bracket. A really good heave on the ratchet is needed to distort them enough to get the washer to close up onto the bracket, and it's difficult to ensure the step cleanly locates into the ho...

Now the lower inners. The original ones are snug on the bolt and the inserts are the perfect length so that when tightened up the shoulder of the located washer fits into the hole in the mounting bracket.

    Wow! They look great Bob!

You could get a job at Dowty! If we need a new prop for the Chipmunk I'll be in touch!

I hope your model flies well.

    Spot on Jud.

Once you have done over 800 mph over the ground, you are not impressed by some immature knob who thinks he is really a thrill seeker by going 100 mph in a 70 mph zone, zipping around the law abiding citizens.

Give me a TD on a lonely winding road any day.

    Regards, Tom

Paul, I ordered the modern bush kit from MEVspares on ebay; the upper bushes are tapered like the originals in my last post ( the camera didn't show the taper very well, trick of the light and angle probably). However i can see two problems with the new ones; firstly the ID of the steel insert is larger and the special bolt is no longer a snug fit but has some slop in it. Secondly the inserts are ...

I have a Teng tools one
Sold with 'lifetime' guarantee. If I take it back to the dealers they send it off for recalibrating. I don't know what they actually do but it comes back very clean, wrapped and with a certificate. Takes about a week and no charge. Of course I only ever think of doing this when I want to be using it! It's been done twice in about 20 years, due for another visit I think.

Yes, done all that Anam. The issue isn't to do with the phone capacity. There's plenty there. It's to do with the Google backup which has the first 15Gb free, and they want to charge after that. My objective is to remove the backed up photos to store somewhere else (ie my laptop) and start again with the Google backup, which apart from this hassle is pretty convenient requiring no intervention.

  • Greybeard 30 April 2024

    Flip, that's brilliant!

  • Bill Bretherton30 April 2024

Just done some reading. An Android phone keeps deleted photos for 30 days, in case you change your mind. It's not to do with that is it?
