Josh Martin

Executive Producer and Director

Josh Martin is an accomplished and multi-award-winning producer, show runner and director with extensive experience in factual, documentary, entertainment, live television and lifestyle television. 

As Co-Managing Director and Co-Owner of i8 Studio, he has produced and directed a myriad of projects, most recently Adam and Poh’s Great Australian Bites (SBS), Luxury Escapes (Foxtel/Binge) Good Food Kitchen (Nine), Inside the AACTAs Studio (Foxtel/Binge) and How Taste Changed the World (Audible)

As Head of Entertainment and Food at SBS, he commissioned, created and produced hundreds of hours of programming every year, such as the Eurovision Song Contest, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Australia’s Biggest Singalong, Eurovision: Australia Decides, Child Genius, The Cook Up, Mastermind, Celebrity Letters and Numbers, Going Places with Ernie Dingo, Food Safari, Stand Up and Be Counted NAIDOC 2020  and many, many more.

As a producer and director, Josh was responsible for a multitude of food shows such as Gourmet Farmer (SBS), Shane Delia’s Spice Journey (SBS), Mexican Fiesta with Peter Kuruvita (SBS), Island Feast with Peter Kuruvita (SBS), Dan Hong’s #Shelfie (ABC). Josh has produced a myriad of US lifestyle shows such as Restored (DIY) and Crazy Cookie Builds (Food Network USA).

For the Nine Network, Josh was a producer on Australia’s longest travel series, Getaway and Series Producer of the ob-doc series Young Doctors. 

For a number of years, Josh was Supervising Producer of Foxtel’s Music channels (Channel [V], Max, Country Music Channel), producing hundreds of hours of live music programming, quiz shows, reality, and documentary. (Big Day Out, What U Want, Max Masters, Blog Party and more.)

Josh started his career at the ABC as a producer/presenter on Australia’s first multi-channel – the ground-breaking Fly TV where he produced and presented numerous series encompassing science, technology, music and more. Josh continued to work at the ABC for several years on such series as Strictly DancingMondo Thingo and the Schools Spectacular.

Throughout his career he has consistently strived to create an interesting, entertaining, and creative body of work and has been recognised by numerous awards and nominations for multiple productions.
