Weather Situation
A large high in the Tasman Sea extends a firm ridge over the state, promoting
settled conditions, with the exception of coastal showers in the onshore wind
flow along the east coast. The high will drift slowly east over coming days,
maintaining the ridge. A weak trough will extend over western Queensland during
today. The trough will deepen slightly and move east into the southern interior
on Monday, before weakening mid-week. A strong high will develop in the
Southern Ocean and extend a new ridge over the state mid-week.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 28 April
Partly cloudy. Slight chance of a shower. Winds east to southeasterly 15 to 25
km/h becoming light in the evening. Daytime maximum temperatures in the low to
high 20s.

below average in the southeast and far southwest, near average elsewhere.

Isolated showers in eastern districts and Torres Strait, tending scattered
about the Cassowary Coast, Central Coast and Sunshine Coast. The chance of a
thunderstorm in the Torres Strait. Isolated afternoon showers in the northwest.
Partly cloudy elsewhere. The chance of morning fog inland in the southeast.
Temperatures near average.

Isolated showers in eastern districts and Torres Strait, scattered on the
Cassowary Coast, Central Coast and exposed South East Coast. The chance of a
thunderstorm in the Torres Strait. Isolated afternoon showers in the southern

southeast. Temperatures near average.
