It’s a Small World

Have a look at our Small Items page for gift ideas – we can send these items via Australia Post.

A lovely set of wall bracket would make an ideal wedding gift . . . . or dress up your own home with a set – a perfect match for the Alien Plant Stand.

A stylish treasure box has many uses – filled with chocolates, soap, spices – whatever takes your fancy, it’s a unique gift.

Tall items can be delivered too – free to Tamborine Mountain, the Gold Coast and Brisbane or ask us for a quote to other areas.

A New Bench Seat for the Zamia Theatre

This week we delivered a brand new hardwood bench specifically designed and built to complement our historical theatre.

Taking design cues from the architectural details of the 1920s building, Derek built a nicely proportioned bench seat in rich red hardwood. As with all of his outdoor furniture, it was built using marine epoxy resin and traditional joints. To add the finishing touch he carved a neat Z (for Zamia) in the centre of the rail. Like all Free Range Furniture it is built to give good service for generations.

Our thanks to the Tamborine Mountain Little Theatre Company Inc. – break a leg!

Special Delivery – Free Range Furniture hand-crafted oak!

A perfect winter’s day on Tamborine Mountain and a rare ‘at home’ morning for Councillor Nigel Waistell, he was tending their very beautiful garden when we arrived while his wife Pamela baked one of her delicious apple pastries which was elegantly served with coffee and cream.

Exhibition Update

We had an excellent response and lots of interest at the brewery last weekend. With perfect Tamborine Mountain winter weather, the days were sunny but cool enough to wrap up in winter woollies and enjoy the crisp mountain air. Mountain locals, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and interstate visitors enjoyed luxury meals, boutique beers, mouth-watering cheese and of course our Free Range Furniture exhibition.

Derek was on hand to talk about his creations and discuss custom work. The ‘Alien’ plant-stands and the ‘Grandfather’ chair were the most popular, although the little cedar cabinet had its fair share of admirers.  See the new photos on The Cedar Works page and The Oak Works page

Local Garden Club members also came along to view similar pieces to those ordered for the Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens – absolutely splendid and well worth a visit next time you visit the mountain.

Exhibition

Derek Ellard’s new work will be exhibited at Mount Tamborine Brewery.

Over two weekends:

A fitting venue for an exhibition of fine hand-crafted furniture, the Brewery complex includes Liquid Amber Bistro and the award winning Witches Chase Cheese Company, where our favourite cheeses are traditionally hand-crafted on the premises.
