Paris, December 18, 2012 – On December 12-13, the B20 Coalition members brought representative business delegations from major economies to Moscow for the launch of G20 consultations with business under Russian Presidency. Under the leadership of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and its President Alexander Shokhin, the B20 Coalition and its members, in cooperation with key partners and top Russian executives, convened private sector task forces to advise G20 leaders in regards to job creation, economic growth, harmonized financial stabilization, investment and infrastructure, energy sustainability, innovation, anti-corruption, and international trade.
“The meeting was a very successful first step in the preparation of the St-Petersburg G20/B20 summit to be held in September 2013. RSPP is well positioned to act as a conduit between the international business community and G20 policy-makers.” said Alexander Shokhin. “It is important to establish a clear and open dialogue between B20 businesses and G20 governments early on if we want to work together on a variety of pressing issues, and tackle the current global economic and social challenges.”
The active involvement of Russia’s foremost companies and its B20 Coalition partners form the basis of a credible continuous dialogue between the business community, the G20 leaders and other stakeholders. Summaries of the discussions and work plans of business task forces will be posted on the B20 Coalition website.
