Welcome to the Australian Haemophilia Centre Directors' Organisation
Welcome to the homepage of the Australian Haemophilia Centre Directors' Organisation (AHCDO). AHCDO is the national medical body for haemophilia in Australia. AHCDOs objectives are:
AHCDO is a not for profit organisation and was incorporated in Victoria in January 2001 under the Associations Incorporation Act. It operates as a national organisation from offices in metropolitan Melbourne and membership consists of the medical directors of Haemophilia Treatment Centres and other clinicians actively involved in the treatment of people with bleeding disorders.
In the past, AHCDO members met as the Medical Advisory Panel (MAP) of HFA. MAP achieved an excellent reputation as a provider of high quality advice and consultation services to appropriate government bodies and now, operating as AHCDO, this reputation continues to grow.
AHCDO acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands around Australia and pays our respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
The Australian Haemophilia Centre Directors' Organisation (AHCDO) has developed the Gene Therapy Roadmap to provide a Clinical Implementation Plan that sets out AHCDO’s position on the preferred approach to implementation of gene therapy for haemophilia in Australia, with a focus on patient needs that is informed by clinical experience.
