Keeping Aboriginal language and culture alive for over 45 years.

Yipirinya School was formed by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal children and continues to be led by strong leaders, resulting in a community rather than just a school.

Yipirinya means caterpillar and the school takes its name and philosophy from Caterpillar Dreaming of the Arrernte people of Mparntwe. Read more about our history and the dreaming story.

It is the only school of its kind in Australia that teaches four Aboriginal languages and English.
