My dad served in Desert Storm (the whole Gulf war, including Desert Shield and Iraqi Freedom).

702nd Transportation. He was a Sergeant First Class.

Army Specialist in Transportation.

Promoted to those ranks and titles after leading charge in tanks, so they put him near the forefront of the convoys to deliver munitions, soldiers and supplies behind enemy lines.

Ever heard of the Million Mile March?

Hundreds of vehicles drove deep into enemy territory over the course of like 24 or 48 hours, nonstop. Something like that. Through active battlefields. The combined range of all odometers exceeded one million miles.

My dad was part of that.

Thank you. This deck and what it honors brings back happy memories of him. (Passed 2009 of cancer)

Roaring Earth This card went off when I played against it in arena, and since you have a ton of ways to get multiple lands out, the +1,+1 counters will add up fast.

Played this tonight in a 3-person game and had a great time! They were also both playing red, so they both had dangerous blockers by the time I played Anim out - but I got really lucky and drew both Ojers + Impact Tremors, forcing them to do some costly removal. Squeaked out a narrow win with Akroma's Will.

I'm no deckbuilding expert - but it felt like having a little creature with evasion and/or a source of evasion might be a nice addition! Just so I'm not risking swinging a freshly re-cast Anim after a board wipe. But some really great choices here, it's a lot of fun to pilot.
