Stepping into 2021

The Smart Card Company farewelled a tough year and welcomed 2021, we have seen recoveries from various sectors of the Australian Hospitality Industry so we are confident this will be a positive year for all of us!

Despite the drop in business, The Smart Card Company continues our product development, with the main focus on producing cards from a more environmentally friendly material. We did launch a cardboard trial with some of our selected clients and are taking on their feedback to further enhance this product before showcasing it to the market.

We also did our first printed advertising campaign in AccomNews which has certainly increased our each in the hospitality industry.

Recently, some of our regional clients have reported surging demands while our city clienteles are just reopening or recovering steadily. In both situations, it is helpful to review your current stock level to ensure you have not run out or are able to keep up with the increased demands.

We are recommending our clients to order early to avoid any potential production or logistical delays due to lockdowns. We thank you for all of your supports in this difficult period and we are always ready to serve your next order.

Brand Refresh

In 2020, it will be our 10th year anniversary of supplying the Australian market with quality plastic cards. Therefore, we felt it makes perfect sense for us to welcome this important date with a brand update!

Company Logo

In this update, we refreshed our company logo and also did a complete makeover of our company website. Firstly, the logo incorporated our key business which is Smart Card and the CMYK chip represented Printing. Next is our website, which should now be much more responsive and provides easier access to all the information.

Going forward, we will be equipping our website and social media pages with more contents. These include some educational videos showing the different kinds of products we offered.

2019 Smart Card Updates

2019 has kicked off very nicely for us at The Smart Card Company!

We had been busy working our way through the orders from the Festive season and will soon have our delivery time frame back to normal. From Motels and Hotels ordering their card supplies for the season to the tens of thousands of Gift Cards and Membership Cards we have printed for various retail businesses, pubs, bars, and clubs around Australia and New Zealand!

Choosing the right hotel lock system

This post is for Hotel Managers to consider before choosing a lock supplier for your property.

There are a number of brands targeting the hotel market, namely Assa Abloy (Vingcard Elsafe, Kaba, Saflok, and Onity. Each of them has their own system and features that might suit your property’s particular needs.

It is often that managers only focus on the costs of the installation, i.e. costs per lock; without looking into the long term picture which will include the costs of Smart Cards that are compatible with the lock.

For example, a lock supplier may include encryption on their system which will restrict your ability to source cards elsewhere. This can prove very costly in the future, as some of the encrypted cards cost over 50% more than the ordinary ones.

So, it is smart to review the entire costs before settling with a particular supplier.
