Clarence Early Years Connections (CEYC) was established in 2023 to support children and families in the Clarence Valley. We are a not for profit community based organisation, overseen by a long established and respected organisation (CCSA Inc).

 

All children and families have the right and capacity to be connected with their community. We offer therapy, education and support to children and their families.

SUPPORTS

Key Worker (for children aged 0 to 6 years)

A Key Worker is integral to assisting, guiding and supporting your child and your family. They are the person you will see and talk to the most. A key worker is an early childhood intervention professional and could be a speech pathologist, early childhood intervention teacher, occupational therapist or physiotherapist.

 

A Key Worker is the primary contact between you and our transdisciplinary team of early childhood professionals. They will makes sure the important people in your child’s life have the information, resources and support to help your child learn, develop and be included.

 

What can your Key Worker do?

  • Help develop an individual plan for your child to support their goals and development.

  • Regularly share information with you about your child’s development, success and achievement.

  • Work with children and families in the child’s natural environment, home, preschool or school to ensure each child is learning and developing through their everyday activities.

  • Support children and families to maximise everyday learning opportunities.

  • Deliver inclusive services in your child’s everyday environment.

  • Support families develop skills and knowledge to understand your rights and advocate for your child

Early Childhood Intervention Teachers/Educators

Early Childhood Intervention Teachers/Educators work with your child, you and your Key Worker. They are highly skilled in all Early Childhood development, learning, social and emotional wellbeing. Working collaboratively with others in your child’s team, help to build the skills and knowledge of families, parents, carers and other important adults in each child’s life.

 

As experts in all areas of child development, learning, play, and social and emotional wellbeing, your Early Childhood Intervention Teacher/Educator will support your child to learn, play and connect at early childhood education and care services and school.

 

What can your Early Childhood Intervention Teacher/Educator do?

  • Support inclusion in Early Childhood education settings.

  • Work with other educators to support each child to play, learn and make friends at Early Childhood settings. 

  • Provide support, coaching and training for families to support their child’s development naturally throughout the day.

  • Support families to strengthen relationships and connection with each child. They recognise the impact of parenting a child with developmental delays and/or disabilities has on the family and support the emotional wellbeing of all family members.
