Who we are

Classic Solutions was established in Canberra, A.C.T. in the late 1980s. Over the years the business evolved and expanded to become known as International Asbestos Removals P/L (IAR).

With its many years of experience and highly specialised personnel and practices, the company has been involved in many high profile projects both nationally and internationally. It has been a key player in the asbestos removal and disposal process for a large number of residential and commercial properties.

The company engages a medium sized team of qualified staff and works with local, national and international companies to deliver the best possible services to its customers.

Accreditation and Qualifications

IAR is proud to have achieved compliance with the AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems standard as it applies to Asbestos Removal.

IAR also holds a current Industrial Relations and Employment Certificate (IRE Certificate) in line with ACT Government requirements.

All IAR staff is required to undertake mandatory training to work in the asbestos industry. This means that staff must be qualified in the removal of friable and non-friable asbestos. Working at heights and confined space training also form part of the competency-training program.

There are mainly two forms of Asbestos that can be found in both residential and non-residential properties, namely bonded and friable asbestos. Due to the potential health risks it is highly recommended that qualified, licensed and experienced personnel are engaged to accurately detect and mitigate potential hazards.

Once a quote is accepted the removal and disposal work is performed in accordance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements and advisory standards.

Provision of
Air-monitoring and
Clearance Inspections

Air monitoring and inspections are part of the risk management process. They are highly recommended and/or essential in ensuring removal work is performed to the required standard.

Air monitoring must be conducted by accredited organisations. IAR has the capacity to make the necessary arrangements for air monitoring and/or inspections. Depending on State regulations, an independent assessor or competent person is assigned to handle these procedures.
