See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I’ve just started a new course—a six week bootcamp for illustration. This is the outcome of the first assignment (recognise this from my weekend at Caloundra?). I spent a lot of time trying out different things: gouache, charcoal, pencil etc. And I completely forgot to use my imagination… But I post it anyway. It’s a good lesson to remind everyone to just do whatever it is that you’re good at and love. MUCH better than trying to follow the crowd and be something you’re not. *Cue Mariah Carey music*

P.S. Check out Pikaland. A super duper site for people who love pretty.

We spent a weekend at Caloundra recently and saw this amazing furry green moss on the rocks at Happy Valley. It felt warm and alive underfoot! Kind of like a wet dog (minus the smell). Which is good if you like dogs. I wish I was a better photographer because these don’t even come close to conveying the feeling of amazement at seeing such an unusual landscape.

Another handwritten note to a very dear friend. I made it by sewing some Marimekko fabric to two postcard pieces of 300gsm paper. The torn bits of paper surrounding it are the remnants of my first attempt! I thought I’d hand it all over to illustrate...

Another handwritten note to a very dear friend. I made it by sewing some Marimekko fabric to two postcard pieces of 300gsm paper. The torn bits of paper surrounding it are the remnants of my first attempt! I thought I’d hand it all over to illustrate my creative process! I have recently been interviewed by Paper Runway magazine about this project… I’m anxiously awaiting the latest issue to see if it made the cut!
