Welcome to the Frankston Peninsula Target Rifle Club

We are a target rifle club shooting various disciplines within ISSF and WRABF guidelines and have members who are currently representing the club, Victoria and Australia at various competitions around the country and overseas.

We are affiliated with Target Rifle Victoria and through them Target Rifle Australia, and Shooting Australia.

About Us

Frankston Smallbore Rifle Club as it was known then has been in the Frankston area since 1954 starting out near the railway station. In 1976 the club combined with Frankston International Small Bore Rifle Club who were situated on the present site and are now operating under the banner of Frankston Peninsula Target Rifle Club (FPTRC).

The club is one of the strongest clubs within our governing body – Target Rifle Victoria. We are primarily a target rifle club shooting various disciplines within ISSF and WRABF guidelines and have members who are currently representing the club, Victoria and Australia at various competitions around the country and overseas.


Small Bore Target Shooting

Small bore target shooting is a safe and fun sport in which anyone can participate regardless of gender or physical ability. In Victoria, Juniors can join the sport from the age of 12.

Depending on your competitive nature you can enjoy the sport from a social club level perspective or you can represent Australia at an international level.  Current and past members have represented their club, state & country in all levels of the sport including the Commonwealth and Olympic Games.  It is entirely up to you what you want to achieve with the sport.  Here at Frankston we offer the following facilities:

50 Metre Range

16 bays to shoot prone, benchrest or 3P (prone, kneeling & standing) positions.  Some bays are equipped with electronic targets.

20 Metre Range

7 bays to shoot prone or benchrest positions.

10 Metre Range

7 bays (fully enclosed with automated & electronic target machines) to shoot Air Rifle in the standing or supported position.

NOTE: Ammunition for shooting on our ranges is restricted to standard velocity types
