Sciens Building Solutions acquired WSA Systems-Boca, a full-service systems integrator that provides security and fire/life-safety solutions and services, for undisclosed terms.

Private equity firm Huron Capital Partners formed Sciens in 2015 in partnership with former Siemens executive, Terry Heath, to pursue a buy-and-build investment strategy in the fire detection and security services sector.

WSA designs, installs and provides maintenance services for fire detection and clean agent fire suppression systems in a variety of commercial, institutional and government facilities. The integrator also provides security solutions, such as access controlvideo surveillance and mass notification systems. WSA has been owned and operated by Brad Golub and Joe Del Pizzo. Both men will remain active in the business as it continues to operate as a division of Sciens in its South Florida regional market.

“Brad and Joe have done a great job building WSA into the successful organization it is today, and we are excited for them join the Sciens team as we seek to develop our platform across North America,” says Heath, Sciens’s CEO. “WSA is an excellent strategic fit for Sciens, and we are eager to leverage the company’s strong relationships with its customers and vendors.”

“We view Sciens as an excellent partner for WSA. We believe that Sciens provides us with resources and capabilities that enhance our ability to serve our customers and grow our operations, and we expect this partnership to create exciting opportunities for WSA’s employees,” Golub says.

The Sciens team includes board member and SSI Industry Hall of Fame inductee Mark Levy, who formerly served as president and CEO of Honeywell Fire Safety.
