Leadfinger B6 | B7 Retro-mod body

Leadfinger Racing has unveil a new “Retro-Mod” body and wing for Team Associated’s B6 and B7 2WD buggies.  In the beginning, the “Retro-Mod” design that started as a side project to create something a little different, surprised everyone by turning into one of the coolest mods in Leadfinger Racing history.  If you’re an old school racer you may notice something familiar.  In LFR’s opinion, the 1987 Optima Mid body is one of the best-looking 4WD 1:10 scale buggy bodies even today.  So, what would happen if we combined a similar body style with the both the Team Associated B6 and B7, well this is it.  This body is perfect for the modern-day racer going after that vintage look on their Associated 2WD buggy.  Made in the USA from durable polycarbonate, the new “Retro-Mod” body comes clear and ready for paint.  Protective over spray film, window masks and official LFR logo stickers are included.  The wing is sold separately.

Xray X8 1:8 4WD Pan Car

Xray has announced something new to the market with the release of the brand new X8, an electric powered 4WD pan car with a solid rear axle and front one-way axle.  This project is realised on the basis of many years of experience within the 1:8 onroad category and was designed by company founder Juraj Hudy, who himself started out RC racing in the sport’s oldest category.  The X8 is designed with the mindset of ease-of-use and simplified setup, but most importantly being easy to drive.  All of these requirements were fulfilled thanks to its concept, where all chassis components work in perfect symphony on the chassis.  The pan car features a unique sandwich chassis design with a battery tray that is integrated from the top for longitudinal reinforcement of the lower chassis plate.  The battery tray and lower chassis work together in a uniform flex system.  The unique battery tray system of the X8 works together with the lower chassis plate in a uniform flex system and this allows the car to be adjusted for different flex characteristics for different track conditions.  By adding or removing the screws on the front chassis brace the flex can be adjusted from very soft up to very stiff.

Japanese competition drift car manufacturer  Rêve D has announced the release of a Carbon Chassis & Top Deck Set for its RDX 1:10 chassis.  This optional product set is designed to optimise the performance of the RDX kit with their development team meticulously testing multiple prototypes and conducting numerous field tests to create this set and push the RDX kit’s performance to extreme levels.  Scheduled for shipping in late May alongside the previously announced FRP chassis set, this new carbon main chassis & upper deck set are produced from 2.5mm thick twill carbon.  Careful attention has been paid to details such as shape, thickness, and lightening to enhance pitching and roll rigidity, taking the RDX’s driving performance to new heights.  The set includes two types of connections between the upper deck and battery holder: an aluminium link plate for the genuine plastic resin top deck, and a carbon top deck for increased battery holder rigidity.  These options allow instant adjustment of traction balance.  Furthermore, the set offers four servo mounting positions, enabling you to customise your setup to suit your course layout and driving style.

The Michal Orlowski Column – Edition No.2

You all loved his first column so we are delighted that Michal Orlowski has somehow found time in his busy schedule to give us another great column as an insight into his world as Schumacher’s star factory driver.  Once again we’ll let Michal take it away and tell you in his own style what has been going on over the last two months….. ‘It has been a while since my last update here.  We have been hard at work with the team to finish off the winter season on a high.  We attended numerous events between February and April, which I will tell you all about, emphasising the struggles and how we could overcome them together.  After attending the Mibosport Cup in early February, it was time to switch back to buggy mode.  For the last few years, the MK GP event has been one of the mostly anticipated off-road races of the winter season with hundreds of drivers participating, but more importantly thousands of people coming to watch us race RC cars.  The event is held in the MK shopping centre in Milton Keynes, UK, home to the Redbull F1 team.  The event is organised by the Silverstone Club, who hosts weekly club races and a winter series at a smaller venue.  This gave us the chance to test on the unique carpet the MK GP crew decided to use since 2023.
