‘Yagoi 100’ is a house designed to incorporate the best of the currently available environmentally friendly design principles and products. The residential dwelling is a showcase and live working model of sustainable construction built in the Currumbin Valley, Queensland Australia. It attempts to achieve more Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) than any of its predecessors. Its ‘One Hundred’ plus features are all listed under Features. The house is a ‘7.2 Star’ Energy Rated home with solar photovoltaics, solar hot water, optimal insulation, a real-time (electricity, solar, pump, temperature, humidity, water) monitoring system and 99% native gardens and is located in paradise on the southern end of the Gold Coast.

Updates to the house have increased its Solar PV array to 11kW (generating over 18,000kWh p.a.) and removed its gas appliances enabling it to achieve net zero emissions. An electric Tesla car is also now used and charged by the sun during daylight hours.  A 13kW battery system also allows the house to operate on local renewable energy throughout the night or when there is regional power blackout. A virtual power plant (Reposit) also enables the retailer (Diamond Energy) to take power from the battery when their is a major grid issue and the SE QLD network needs more power.
