A single star review!! What's going on here? Read more to find out just why I am not able to deliver anything higher, or lower...
My wife and I, my then fiancée, were looking to have a quiet dinner at a unique restaurant and Red Table was the place we agreed to visit.
We waited 15 minutes at the seating hostess' station, not one person greeted us. I'm sure you're thinking, "Busy restaurant, hustle and bustle, cut 'em some slack." Wrong! There were two other couples dining inside and plenty of staff chatting it up rather casually to see any type of excuse for neglect.
We headed out and landed at another restaurant.
3 years later we returned to give it another go and the same thing happened again. You guessed it, we left.
Most recently my wife and I headed back to the restaurant to give it a go and we were seated in the moderately paced restaurant and waited. 20 minutes after our appetizer order and not one word or drink check top off we left with a discouraged feeling. We left enough cash to cover the appetizer and a generous tip in an effort to hopefully cause the server to question the generosity whilst thinking about the lack of service that was delivered.
We are 0 for 3 here and have no plans to return.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 4 - Feb 14, 2024Updated review
Had my birthday dinner here with friends on a rainy weekday and the food and service were great! Delicious cocktails and I opted for their Monday special which was chicken alfredo pasta ($15) - rich creamy pasta with lots of chicken chunks. I took half of it home. I recommend this dish! They brought out a creme brulee with a birthday candle for dessert. Super good too! Thanks Red Table for making my birthday dinner so memorable!

Hi Kent - thank you so much for your compliments. I'm very pleased that your Mother's Day outing at Red Table was a positive experience! Thank you for the nice review. We look forward to serving you again.
Sincerely,
Cozette, ownerDec 8, 2023Previous reviewThe food here for dinner the other night was delicious, however, i did notice prices have gone up. But prices have gone up everywhere so not really surprised. $26 for a steak sandwich, $22 burgers with fries separate for $8?! But what i did get was delicious. Big portion of beef stroganoff with filet mignon tips, with mushrooms and a truffle sauce. SO GOOD! $32 though. My friend got the braised short ribs and liked his dish but thought mine was better. Plus side, come in on Wednesday's and all their bottles of wine are half off. Which could be a deal depending on how you look at it. Service was good and our waiter was really friendly. I would come back to try other things on their menu just be prepared that its not an inexpensive restaurant anymore.
May 10, 2021Previous reviewCame here for mothers day w/ reservations to eat outside on their extended patio. They were opened early that day but they did not have any breakfast/brunch items....it was just their regular menu w/ appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, etc. Not a big deal at all. Our family wanted to eat somewhere quiet and still outside while being "safe". This was a great option and glad they opened early!
Our server was friendly and all the items came out quickly. We ordered the shrimp, bacon wrapped dates, meatball sliders, grilled cheese w/ tomatoe soup, loco moco and the steak sandwich. Tons of food and it was all delicious. The kids menu mac n cheese was so good for our 3 year old at the table but such a huge portion. Enough for adults to split. My grilled cheese was also very good and even better when dipped in the tomato soup. The steak sandwich looked like it was 10-12' sub. Very big and came with au jus sauce.
Would definitely come to enjoy their outdoor seating for dinner. I noticed they had heat lamps for the evening. Great mother's day outing thanks to Red Table! Food for 5 (1 child) + cocktails was $175 + tip. Very reasonable for the quality of food and area.May 22, 2019Previous reviewGlad I made reservations here on a wed night because it was packed! Wed is wine night so all their wine bottles are 1/2 off! Definitely worth it if you enjoy wine.
Service was great and the chicken entree with lemon on it and mashed potatoes and garlic green beans was delicious. Others in my group had the salmon, shrimp pasta, beef straggonof (sp?) and loco mocco. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food.
For dessert, we ordered their specials chocolate mouse cake and raspberry cheesecake. Both were so good and rich in flavor but I liked the cheesecake more. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.Dec 27, 2016Previous reviewGreat hidden gem in the Huntington harbor mall! This restaurant is definitely underrated. I came here on Christmas eve for dinner. Made reservations for 6pm, and by the time we were done at 7:30, every table was taken. They didn't have a special holiday menu, but their everyday menu is great because it has a lot of varieties of meat, sandwiches, pastas, appetizers, fries, drinks, etc.
I ordered the tomato bisque soup for my starter, I got the cup ($4) which was still a large portion and the soup was delicious! It comes with pesto sauce on top and croutons. For my main dish I got their special, the pork chop ($22) which comes with bacon mashed potatoes and green beans. The pork chop was thick and packed a lot of flavor. The sides were also good. My dad got their flat iron steak entrée ($22) and he enjoyed it as well. The prices here are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of your food. The atmosphere is also very nice, it was a relaxed, enjoyable dinner w/ great service. I always forget about this place, but will definitely come back for their killer happy hour prices! - John E.Huntington Beach, CA05110Apr 20, 2024
I honestly want to pull what little hair i have left out when a restaurant can't have enough people on staff . Why are we waiting 10 minutes for a server to show up once seated? The food is good here but I am giving up on this place due to their inability to provide good service. By no means is it cheap, therefore the owners should try to ensure they have enough employees to accommodate the patrons they have. Btw, it wasn't just the initial contact, it was the entire night.

This place is wonderful year meet the greeted :-) this but the one thing that puts a smile on my face?
That's got to be the stroganoff what are the new stroganoff...
I say this with impunity lol it is so delicious it is definitely not the cheapest item on the menu, but well worth every penny of it
flavor is so welcome to texture? It's perfect for the meat is cooked on perfection, making it soak up the flavor and melt in your mouth like butter.!
This place is a win!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 22, 2022Previous reviewI have to agree with my roommate this is one of the best kept secrets in Huntington Beach we were greeted immediately by a really cool host name Mario made me feel right at home the bartender Ava had it hell of a sense of humor it was pretty much suret that no matter what she suggested it was going to be perfect so I had to start with the chicken lettuce wraps you get a choice of having a warm or cold I had to have them warm and for my entrée which I can't wait to try the beef stroke enough my roommate I don't know what he tried... But I do now because he just told me he's gone for the fish and chips chances are if you want to place it has elegance class and feels right at home this is where you're going to go the best part killer parking!
The wine selections incredible I don't know why you would pass this place up you need to stop by and have dinner here... Half off wine Wednesdays? I think we already know where you're going to be
If you're gonna get the chicken wraps you need to get them warm... Warm to form I had to have it in company my cocktail which set me up for the most perfect blend of flavor and texture each bite welcoming the next each sip welcoming the next Gulp!
The beef stroganoff was incredible literally melting in my mouth which is good because I kept shoveling it in I have to agree with the bartenders choice I tried the Negroni with aviation gin
I would've ruined it with my suggestion but anytime you can enjoy somebody that knows the atmosphere so well they can make it better
five stars just isn't enough where there should be 10 - Joseph P.Huntington Beach, CA08May 8, 2024
We had a good server, but the food was pretty bad. We started with fried calamari, which turns rubbery when it's overcooked. Our calamari was so overcooked, it was not only rubbery, the breading was so hard the pieces clinked on the plate when I dropped then. Next, I had fish and chips, and it was also overcooked, and it was so thin that there was very little fish between the breading. The server noticed that I didn't eat most of it, and she removed it from our bill. Since I was still hungry, I decided to eat some of my daughter's giant meatball and spaghetti. She didn't eat much of it, because she didn't like it very much. I tried it and agreed - it had almost no flavor. It didn't taste bad, it just didn't taste like anything. My wife said her meal was good, but one good meal out of four is a pretty bad ratio.

Red Table has been my family's favorite restaurant for a long time. We've celebrated countless birthdays here, and it never disappoints. The staff is wonderful, and their food is absolutely amazing. They have tons of options to choose from, making it a perfect spot for any occasion. Highly recommend giving it a try!
