Final Reflection
Dear class,
This semester has been quite the learning experience. Not only did I learn a lot in the classroom but I also learned a lot about myself. I have had a lot of ups and downs this semester and taken away a lot of lessons.
This class in particular was very challenging. Inquiry writing is much more labor intensive than creative writing or opinion writing. It took me a while to find my writer’s voice in inquiry writing. I was still pushing my own opinion but I had to support that opinion with arguments from academic research. I also had to present both sides of the argument.
Finding my style of writing in inquiry did not just magically happen. It was found through all of the work we conducted in this class. From the blogging and in class writings to the group work and peer revisions, it all built up to the final draft of my research paper.
The peer reviews and group work allowed me the opportunity to see other classmate’s ideas and use those ideas to improve on my own. I am personally not the most creative person in the world so when we conducted peer reviews I was in awe of how creative some of the inquiry topics were.
My absolute favorite moment in class was doing the group work on genre remixing (putting a yelp review into a different genre). Normally in group work I end up taking lead or at least contributing significantly. That was not the case on this day. My group decided to convert a yelp review into Lovecraftian horror. Seeing how I know nothing about Robert Lovecraft’s writing I contributed absolutely nothing but moral support and the product still came out awesome. The exercise really made me realize that no matter how much you think you know there will always be situations where you depend on other people to pull you through.
Over all I think that I had an awesome class this semester. Our class was very diverse, and I like to think that I played a part in that diversity. My only regret is having personal issues that got in the way of me being there more often. There was honestly not one class that I did not enjoy and take knowledge away from.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Finger

Exploratory Essay Reflection
The exploratory essay was great. I had so many great ideas for my inquiry project. I watch a lot of news and am pretty up to date with my current events. That is where most of my ideas stemmed from. I thought I was going to breeze through the entire inquiry project.
Inquiry Proposal Reflection
As I mentioned before, when I first began to research topics of inquiry I thought it would be simple to choose one. After our visit to the library and beginning my own research I began to run into trouble. It took a lot of research and a few times changing my topic before I finally arrived at a suitable one.
Inquiry Paper Reflection
Honestly the hardest paper I have written since I came back to school. It took a lot of thought and re writing in order to get cited information into my paper and still have it flow well. Thankfully I was well prepared by our in class work and out of class reading.
Genre Project
It was a lot of fun being able to get creative. I really enjoyed seeing all of my classmates awesome ideas and presentations. Some of the class really took this project to another level and I think I enjoyed seeing there presentations more than I liked making mine.
