About

I'm an honest, open, and transparent Aussie, an accomplished public speaker, experienced Engineering Manager, skilled .NET developer, and a devoted husband and father.

Over the course of my career, I’ve found that interesting problems & inspiring solutions are what gets me out of bed in the morning - especially if they are in the fields of leadership, culture/mindset, or .NET development

My previous experience is laid out below, but in short, it spans many technologies (C#, F#, VB.NET, Javascript, T-SQL, PL-SQL, Systems Administration, Docker, Azure & AWS), many industries (marketing, branding, logistics, manufacturing, telecommunications, "cloud", retail, and e-commerce), multiple cultures, and many years (7+ in Leadership, 20 with .NET, 15+ with SQL, 10+ with "cloud")

I'm currently excited to be working at Slalom Build, helping to kickstart the expansion into Sydney!

Who is Slalom (and Slalom Build?) -- well, here's the brief:
“Slalom is a modern consulting firm focused on strategy, technology, and business transformation. In over 35 markets across the US and around the world, Slalom's teams have autonomy to move fast and do what's right. They're backed by regional innovation hubs, a global culture of collaboration, and partnerships with the world's top technology providers. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Seattle, Slalom has organically grown to over 8,000 employees. Slalom was named one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2020 and is regularly recognized by employees as a best place to work.

Expanding into Australia is an exciting step for Slalom. We believe our modern approach to consulting is an ideal fit for the strategy, technology, and business transformation needs of Australian companies, as well as our many international clients with interests in the Asia-Pacific region.

Slalom Build, the next generation of software- and technology-building, reimagines how companies build modern software, transforming how they create change with technology. Slalom Build establishes "Build as a Service" (BaaS), a new category for cloud-native software and product engineering. Slalom Build puts interdisciplinary teams to work in close proximity with clients, to build modern technology and software products for enterprises. Learn more at slalombuild.com.”

Vanessa DuPrix is a desktop application written in C#/WPF that reduces the effort required to price all Coolblue products effectively.

It has a companion C# Windows service, aptly named "the Pricing Recommendation Calculator", that actually produces Pricing Recommendations in (near-)real-time based on the changes within the business, and the market.

In the near-future we are looking to "move to the cloud" using technologies like AWS Lambda (for C#) and further automate the pricing…
