Registrations for the 2024 Avon Descent, held on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August, will open on Sunday 26 May.
Details to come.
Full two-day course
Completing the full, two-day 124-kilometre course is the goal for most Avon Descent competitors. Spending Day 1 on the waters between Northam and Toodyay, then enjoying the rare and incredible sights and challenges of the Avon Valley on Day 2 – the two-day event is an opportunity not-to-be-missed.
Short one-day options
There are two shorter course options for those wanting to participate in the Avon Descent, but not wanting to complete the 124km course.
Day 1, Northam to Toodyay (50km)
Day 2 Bond to Bayswater Belter (13km flatwater only)
Team relays
If you don’t want to do the Avon Descent on your own, consider getting a team of mates together and completing the course as a relay! There are opportunities for teams of 2 and teams of 4 available.
A dedicated team of volunteers specifically focused on the safety of everyone involved in the Avon Descent. Water, Land, Recovery and Communication roles available.
The Avon Descent weekend provides entertainment both on the river, and on the riverbank! Communities in Northam, Toodyay, Swan, Belmont and Bayswater welcome all spectators to catch the thrills and spills at family festival events this year.
