I love this Cafe in the land of Cafes that is Summer Hill.
It's the courtyard shaded by a lovely Jacaranda tree. It's the great service when you eat in.

Although the front area for take away coffee is awks. Cramped and you feel a little bit like a douche standing around inside waiting for yours. Sorry, I digress... I'm always crabby when I have to wait more than oh.. 0.7 seconds for my coffee.

It has recently had a change of management.. The owners of Sideways Cafe in Dulwich hill now own it. They didn't change much which is always good. If it aint broke don't fix it.

Coffee is reliably good. Food is pretty top notch.
Always check the specials board for the good gear. I recently had a Pulled pork and Slaw wrap. I'm glad to see they are keeping up with the Joneses on the whole Pulled pork thing.

I also love their Breakfast Burrito. It's on point. I think that's a term?

A very cute cafe that has a really great courtyard in the back. And although they don't have wifi, they do have plenty of power points (not in the courtyard, but in the indoor areas). The staff are perfectly happy to let you sit there and hang out with your laptop. The cute gallery-style layout make it a very cozy and comfortable place to hang out with a book, newspaper, or just a good friend.

The coffee was very good but the orange juice was even better. It's completely freshly squeezed and is just really refreshing. I would definitely come back here again or recommend it to anyone who needs a quiet retreat.

I didn't even have time to finish my coffee before a delicious plate of eggs Benedict came wandering my way in the hands of one of the friendliest waiters the inner west has seen.
The food was delicious, banter plentiful, juice soothing, and coffee divine.
Give it a red hot go next time you're in the 'Hill for brunch/lunch!

Envy wins my affection with their beautiful courtyard.

Out the back and down the stairs of their seemingly tiny cafe, you discover a spacious courtyard filled with wooden tables and enclosed by a wooden picket fence, overgrown by green vines and vibrant pink flowers. The centrepiece of the courtyard is a thick, tall jacaranda, which flowers the courtyard with little purple fairies come spring. With large white umbrellas to combat the sun and plenty of outdoor heaters to combat the cold, Envy's courtyard is fit for all seasons.

My favourite position for a rainy day (or for when I'm feeling like something a little more intimate) is their warmly lit gallery room, jutting out from the courtyard. This back room is filled with art imported from Vietnam, each available for individual sale. Only a handful of small tables fit inside this gallery room and it's a great place to sit and write, inspiration sliding off the walls and onto your pad/into your computer which is kept alive by the room's power points (no Wifi though).

Aside from the setting, Envy also rocks a decent coffee (thank God for Little Marionette beans) and good service. It's been a while since I've eaten lunch here, but they offer typical sandwich cafe fare (bread by Sonoma), as well as a couple of more expensive options: roast pumpkin salad ($16), king prawn linguine ($17.50), wagyu beef burger ($18). My pick for breakfast is the gluten free brown rice porridge with pear and fig compote, yoghurt and mascarpone ($9.90).

It's peaceful, pretty and a great outer-inner west option.

Not much in the way of ambiance but enjoyed the Vittoria coffee and toasted sandwich. Nice cakes too and good prices compared to the CBD. If back in this area I'd stop for coffee again

The Good: courtyard, eclectic vibe, great tasting coffee, prompt service, decent breakfast, great atmosphere for kids and a host to a variety of community activities...

The Bad: not much...but can be noisy when busy, menu needs more gluten free/lactose free options, heating options during winter a little lacking for heat...

In terms of going for coffee and a bite to eat, this cafe was always my go-to place for those things. I used to eat here with my mother when the place was called Four Seasons Cafe some twelve or thirteen years ago.

Interior-wise, the place hasn't changed. They still keep to their shtick of being an art gallery in addition to a cafe. The cafe itself is very cosy and plays ambient jazz music -very artsy and hipster-y, which is why most people drink and dine in the courtyard out the back. It's full of plant life and generally has a nice ambience which people - including myself - find appealing.

The food is nice but not very filling. I ordered a sandwich with gruyere cheese and still felt hungry afterwards. Their cakes, coffees and drinks are much better.

The service is also very good, always performed with a smile.

Decent cafe with a nice garden courtyard out the back. Coffee and food are good, friendly staff, etc. Nothing really stood out for me, so won't go out of my way to get back there, but would happily re-visit if I was in the area.

One of my go-to cafe's when I'm feeling like a good coffee. Good vibes in a courtyard setting with shade and great food. Good service, but a bit pricey.
