Alcott joins Rabbitohs
The Australian cricket team's head physiotherapist, Errol Alcott, has left his position with Cricket Australia to join National Rugby League club South Sydney.
Alcott heads to the Rabbitohs, where he will be responsible for the physical performance and the rehabilitation department, after 22 years with the Australian cricket team.
"I feel very privileged and lucky to have been involved in the careers of so many of this country's cricketing personalities," Alcott said in a statement.
"Part of me is sad that my time with the team is coming to an end, but I am looking forward to the new challenges in my professional life.
"I believe I've left a legacy to the sport and have many fond memories including three victorious assaults on the cricket World Cup, and eight successful Ashes campaigns out of 10 from 1986 to 2005."
Cricket Australia general manager of cricket operations, Michael Brown, said a replacement for Alcott had yet to be decided on, but added Alcott could play some part in the upcoming Ashes series.
