Catholic Bushwalking Club

The Club

The Catholic Bushwalking Club is a Sydney based bushwalking club and was formed in 1943 by a small group of Catholics with a common interest in bushwalking and has since grown to nearly 400 members. Membership of the Club is not limited to Catholics and is open to everyone who meets entry requirements.

The Club has been one of the pioneers in recreational bushwalking, particularly in the Sydney area, and has been among the first to explore many wilderness areas including a number of the Blue Mountains canyons.

The Club generally holds at least 1 walk each weekend and often holds walks midweek. Walks of varying grades are held, ranging from easy on-track walks through to challenging adventures in un-tracked country.

The Club fosters responsible bushwalking and requires participants to care for the environment, to care for others, to adopt safe practices and to comply with the Club's risk management, child protection and privacy policies.
