Summary: “No, no, I’ve met my soulmate,” Clint hurried to clarify. “It’s just that until half an hour ago, I thought Loki had killed him.”
Summary: It's almost 2013. The Avengers survived. Phil survived. They celebrate.
Summary: For years after the events in New York, Clint Barton thought that Phil Coulson was dead. The only person who knew that he was still alive was Nick Fury, and of course he kept it secret. Clint is devastated and only his best friend Natasha and the other Avengers can make it bearable for him. One day, Tony hacks SHIELD files (again) and finds out something interesting. After informing Clint about it, the archer leaves the Avengers to find the love of his life. This story tells what happened when they meet again.
Summary: When Phil Coulson wakes up after the Battle for New York, Fury tells him he can't tell the Avengers he lived. Phil believes some orders aren't meant for following; this is one of them.

Summary: For the first time since he’d died and been resurrected, he was going to see the Avengers … and it was the loss of his hand and part of his arm that was the reason why.
Summary: May breathed out a long, slow exhale and nudged into park, staring sightlessly out the window. Her phone pinged with a text. Simmons, probably. Checking in. She wouldn’t trade what they had now for this world or any other, but she missed it, sometimes, the bustling base. Always having something to do, defensible walls.
The text was headed hi May. May stared at it for a long moment, keeping her palms wrapped around the steering wheel. She didn’t feel much like May, right then. Melinda, maybe. For once. Just a woman sitting in her car with an aching thigh and a switchblade in her pocket, feeling every single one of her fifty-two years. Exhausted with not doing a damn thing. She hadn't felt this way in so long.
She felt like Agent May, like she would never, ever be able to be anything else.
May shut her eyes hard and then opened them again. She muted the radio and pulled back onto the road, driving steadily towards home.
Or: May, Coulson, and Daisy, and moments from a day or two in the building of a new life. A story for learning to trust that the good things in your life are going to stick around, and for the days when even those good things are still a little bit hard.
