Quinta Portuguesa -  Luxury Heritage Portuguese Country Estate in Assonora, Bardez North Goa, India. Come here for the peace and the quiet village lifestyle yet only 40 minutes away from the beach strip with pool and ultra luxurious modern facilities. Ideal for family/ School Reunions

This is 19th century architecture combined with 21st century style, comfort and design!. This 125 year old beautifully restored Heritage Portuguese Country Estate with a Main House built in 1897 and 2 more Villas - The DAMAN AND DIU HOUSE is a 2 bedroom villa with en-suite bathrooms and ZANZIBAR HOUSE is a single bedroom Villa with en-suite bathroom. Land is 3050sqm and built up around 796 sqm. Suites and rooms are named after ex Portuguese colonies. Please note this is a home stay and that u are staying in our holiday home in North Goa Assonora, so please treat our home well.

The main house contains 4 king size Air conditioned Suites PORTUGUESE GOA SUITE/ BRAZIL SUITE/ PORTUGUESE MACAU SUITE/ BARBADOS SUITE each with its en-suite bathrooms, adjoining BARBADOS SUITE is another Air conditioned PORTUGUESE GUINEA ROOM bedroom with 2 double beds which can be a family Suite and the EAST TIMOR LOFT with 2 double beds  and 1 single bed with fans is a favorite with Kids who like their own space. part of the PORTUGUESE GOA SUITE. 

All around the Estate the garden is bursting with lawns, bamboo, bougainvillea bushes, cycas, coconut trees, 4 white Marble lions sit in the large Garden, Large patio area surrounding the swimming pool and a fully equipped modern kitchen, a Patio Area with a Jacuzzi and even has a spring well that provides water for the house.

Accommodation: Normal occupancy is 2 Adults per 7 ensuite bedroom, extra people extra charges apply.

Entire Estate Maximum Sleeps  20-24 people in 7 King-size bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms + 2 bedrooms with 5 beds and 4 futons/Sofa/Single beds.

Price (per day) for Entire  Estate  - Inclusive of free morning breakfast,

Extra fee of Indian Rs 1500/- per meal for In House Chef for Lunch and Dinner cooking with all your ingredients and Chef's Menu only

Add Cleaning Fee Indian Rupees 3000/- per 3 day booking or per week.

Prices below for 14 Adults only, above 14 Adults, Seasonal pricing - Additional person at INR 3000 kids below 3 years free.

FACILITIES:

• 8 Air conditioned King-size bedrooms with king-size 4 poster beds with individual pocketed spring mattresses and ensuite Bathrooms with solar powered water heaters , Writing Desk, table lamp, cupboards and Yale Safe deposit lockers in each bedroom as well.
• Emergency Invertor Power in all rooms for a light and fan only and essential WIFI network coverage
• WIFI Access Points throughout the Estate
• Tea, Coffee and  Milk provided for morning Breakfast only.
• Toilet Paper, Soap, shampoo and conditioner and hand wash included.
• Filter water available from local well/springs, Bottle water not included but can be arranged at cost.
• Plates, Cutlery, Glasses, Table mats provided for use.
• Swimming Pool 38ft by 15ft and 3.8ft deep, swim at your own risk and no lifeguard on duty, Kids below 7 years have to be accompanied by Adults, 3 pool deck chairs,
• Towels provided for pool use changed weekly. Pool Closed at 11pm daily.
• Bedroom Linen and towels changed twice weekly.
• 3 Fridges and 1 large 375 liter Chiller/freezer.  
• Full equipped kitchen with full sized cooker,  3ft x 2ft Italian Oven,  4 Slice Toaster, coffee machine and Microwave Oven
• BBQ Gas Grill Available for BBQ - Self use or Chef will help. BBQ can be organized as well from 3rd party Caterer.
• Daily Maid service once a day only sweeping, moping, cleaning Toilets on request. Cleaner will not enter room unless requested.
• 2 Washing machines and washing soap provided and 1 Dryer for Self Service. 
• Irons and ironing boards provided
• Cable TV with Dish Antenna 
• Outdoor party area with bar, outdoor furniture- 10 tables each with 4 chairs and with outdoor lighting for entire estate.
• Car parking free for 12-15 cars in the estate

Staff 

Juvenal is the General Manager and the estate staff are happy to shop for you at the local and Mapusa Bazaar, you can also join him for these trips and assist you with all your needs in Goa. He can also arrange sight seeing, beach trips and recommend bars,Restaurants, Night Market, Flea market shopping trips, etc. Beer, Liquor, etc. ask him for wholesale suppliers.  Not sure, Where, What, Why, When - Ask Juve. Please note transport charges apply.

Kali the Chef/House steward with his wife and family have separate accommodation in the ground. Kali looks after the running of the house and looks after the garden and pool area and will help prepare light breakfasts.

PLEASE NOTE: Kali can also on request produce a delicious North Indian and South Indian curries and Snacks.  He is a qualified Hyderbadi Chef. His famous Hyderbadi Dhum Biryani Chicken or Mutton is mouth watering, although ingredients have to be purchased and passed to him. There are additional charges for cooking and materials for the dishes and a menu is available. Need to order a day in advance and transport charges apply for the marketing.

House Help Service - Avinash/Sunanda

The house help's daily Duties include cleaning Bedrooms, Bathrooms, bed making, sweeping, dusting of rooms once a da only, Washing pots, pans plates, cutlery after breakfast and meals.

Self service : 2 washing machines available on the premises, washing of light personal laundry e.g. T shirts, shorts, underwear, swim shorts, etc. Guest are more then welcome to use the 2 washing machines, Clothes Dryer, Irons and Ironing boards  provided. Not included is Ironing. We can advise of local laundries if you require this service and do not take any liability or responsibility. Provide washing powder free of cost.

Local activities    

Visiting local markets, temples & churches, Visiting nearby towns & villages, Visiting Mayem Lake and boating, 17th Century Pandava Rock cut Caves, Aravali Waterfalls, Bicholim, Mapusa, Panjim Towns and Bazaars, Night Market, Flea Markets, Dolphin watching trip off Sinquerim Max 12-14 people per boat, Fishing trips on traditional boats and general sight seeing in Goa.

The space: It's all in the details. Everything is thought of and well maintained. It felt like home to us. The rooms are big, the beds are comfortable, the living room and dining room are very cozy and big. The colors, the furniture, the lighting elements, everything was beautiful. And what tops it all off is the swimming pool at the heart of a beautiful garden that makes you wanting to spend all the vacation there.

The staff: We love Keith. Great guy and great house manager, very caring and always available. He made sure everything is happening smoothly and that everyone was having a great stay. As for the cook and the helpers, they are also very nice people. Very polite and humble. The food was good and they were flexible. They took into consideration every meal suggestion. The eggs were good! And regarding transportation, it was arranged by Keith. Both drivers were very nice guys.

To conclude, the experience was great and we are all happy to have stayed at a Villa like Quinta Portuguesa. We even got mugs as gifts on our last day!
