Mediumship - Not An Exact Science

Tuesday May 12 2015

I was recently trying to explain how I read and thought it was worth sharing especially when coming from a position of the expectation that all mediums are 100% correct, as seemed to be the expectation by some people on free reading threads on Facebook! Mind you it’s hard enough explaining it to a believer let alone a sceptic, which this person is! Not everybody reads in the same way, our spiritual connections are unique to us.

I personally tend to take a rather pragmatic approach, it’s a science not a God given gift and is all about the electrochemistry of the brain and remembering that the “soul” of a person is their mind; that is electrical energy too and unique to the individual. A brain transplant may be possible one day – a mind transplant won’t because the energy (electromagnetic energy of the brain) is created by the individual who is created genetically and environmentally and not only spiritually.  The part that we connect with after death is this part that "thinks and feels" the mind. This does not mean that the connection between man and spirit is not something to be respected and revered: it is. The “beings” are there for us, but the actual art of connection and being able to read doesn’t make you a demi-God or even half a demi-God!

Mediumship is the linking of the “dead mind” and the "live mind” (the medium). To communicate the two energies have to be constant and of course they aren’t always. If a medium is getting a message that should say, “That is a really pretty dress with flowers on it” the medium may only hear “That pretty flower.” No one knows how to maintain constant contact and in my experience it’s not possible. This is why some people can read and some can’t. Some people “see ghosts” because for that split second or few moments the frequency matches and some don’t ever get to that moment in time when it all aligns energetically. Most non medium people, or should I say people who don’t consider themselves in tune, see or hear things at night because of a lack of artificial energy (lights, etc) there is less interference and thus less effort is required.

When I read, I “feel” as well, I then translate the feeling. For example; The big tall man I feel around a client, I can “feel” he is tall and was possibly a drinker. Once that connection is made it gets stronger and you can build more but you have to interpret the feelings because there are no words; the communication is silent if you like. Maybe there are two spirits there and we have to identify one. Once we have acknowledged someone in spirit we can connect more easily the second time around because the energy signature is already identified. It’s like remembering someone’s name or face after you met them for the first time.

However, being a medium we are not in your personal life or your reality so if I say “Big tall man” that could be anyone in the world, so I go on for validation and progress from there, it’s like building a puzzle and not always a fluid conversation. I “see” people in spirit who are married as they hold hands, bad marriage they stand together but no touching, separated then a prominent gap between them. It’s not like I just have a running dialogue or they come right out and say “We were married but hated each other” “We were happily married” etc. Some mediums hear, I do now and again but rarely out loud, usually it’s like a thought is dropped into your head and you hear that thought. People can communicate the same way – have you ever found yourself thinking of someone at a random moment and for no reason, this can be because the energy is transferring and they are thinking of you too, or you will see them soon. It’s a mild form of energy exchange. In the same way a medium can “think” of someone they don’t know and connect because the energetic connection is there.

Because mediums have rarely any private knowledge of the client they have to place what they see and interpret what they hear to fit within the reality of the client and not their won – so if a medium uses a bog standard phrase “Mary Poppins” type it is probably the phrase they use for someone who cared for kids, or who was busy, kind hearted and officious. It’s not a fall back it’s a staple to get the message across.

I don’t shut down and have spooks wandering in and out on and off. If you have kept up with my Facebook page you will know about Jerry and perhaps you will laugh,  but I don’t know him, he is only connected to me because he was in the house I lived in and in no other way part of my life.

Imagine you go into a shopping centre and there are hundreds of people around you but you aren’t connected to any of them. It’s the same with spooks, if they can get in they will, it is up to the medium to filter what they are receiving and that is part of what makes a medium good. So you don’t necessarily get it wrong if you can’t place someone, it’s more like your radar is wandering or wavering. Usually if there is an emotional connection with the client and their spook the medium will mostly get their client spirit loved ones because the connection and the need to be heard is stronger. I have given messages to people for their friends during readings because it is like the spook sees the phone line is open and talks and take a chance!

If three different people you know described you to a complete stranger and then put you in a line up, would you get picked from the three separate descriptions? Probably not, so the medium has to get enough to positively and individually identify someone and that can take time and effort but usually starts with a general phrase. Trust me, reading for an hour does your head in sometimes because there is a constant effort to keep the connection and the mind state you are in to do that. Some people are natural, they are wired right; some people are more psychic than mediumistic (no spirit people just feelings) and some mix both.

It is not yet possibly to scientifically test mediumship so the only way we can be in any way assured of genuine ability is by a relatively high accuracy strike rate and even then we all have our days when we just don’t got it. We are after all, only human!

Making Amends & Saving A Life

Thursday May 7, 2015 (It's been too long I know!)

Too many times we use spirit in readings to find out about us. Where is life going? Who is the man of my dreams. Here I want to tell you a couple of true stories about the more profound and possibly one of the real uses of spirit in our lives. If you have read my book, you will know the background, which we won’t go into here but these situations happened recently, post book.

Barry Gray and I were doing some on camera training for the new show. The only reading guinea pig available was little old me and you could hear them skeletons rattling in the closet almost immediately. We were only doing mediumship and working on the identification of spirits around others. Barry went gangbusters with the first few, and I was confident he had it all going on until he said he had an old man standing back who wanted to come in but wasn’t sure if he could. Flippantly I said bring him through, for a split second wished as he described him I wished he hadn’t but now I am so glad he did.

This man was a part of my life as a child and without a word of a lie, evil personified. I knew we were training and this was a professional environment so I couldn’t really react the way I wanted to as Barry spoke.  I white knuckled my way through it. I know for sure when we go over we have to review our lives and feel what we did to others good and bad and this man had clearly taken a fast track to purgatory after dropping dead in his own hallway thirty years or so ago. As a medium I knew how he felt and a few times he had come to me and I had ignored it and sent him away. He had no place in my thoughts, my memories and thank God, my life any more. Due to the situation I allowed him to speak through Barry. It wasn’t tearful or emotional, I was stoic, “Say what you have to say and get lost” was in my head. The more Barry went on the more understanding I had of this man and the things he did. He negatively affected generations of the family and it had all come home to roost. There were no heartfelt apologies though, it wasn’t like a tearful reunion at the airport with a long lost and loved relative; more a rather humble explanation of who he was in life, why he was in life and how death and the other side had treated him. Something went off in my head and I realised despite the damage, this man had also suffered (no excuse) and to an extent was continuing to because no one still living would forgive him. It was almost as if he was or is destined to wander the ethereal plane until someone found it in their heart to let him off the hook. The accuracies that Barry bought through were profound, undeniable and rang true without ambiguity.

I felt a weight lifting from me, and it stays away to this day as I now realise it really isn’t up to us to judge or to carry hatred and spite, the Universe takes care of that. Two nights later I heard the familiar wheeze and hack of the same spirit-man and a vague, emphysema soaked “thank you.” Instead I say thank you to him, because that connection and conversation seems to have released us both from a potential lifetime of negativity. We can still learn in spirit as we can in the human realm.

On another sad but turns happier note. I wanted Barry to read for a friend of mine. I won’t mince words, this friend was at risk of suicide and life seemed blacker than black with no way back for him and I was scared. I didn’t want to lose my friend and became a little neurotic about it. I wasn’t there when the reading happened but clearly Barry gave my friend enough validations and then enough hope for me to now have a much happier and more positive friend back and I love it. Did Barry and spirit save a life? Yes I know so and I thank them both for it.

A Murder A Friend & A Lesson from Spirit

Monday November 3, 2011

A few months ago a woman booked a reading with me.She lived in another state, I didn't know her or anything about her the appointment was even booked for her by someone else.

The tiny blonde walked in to my reading room and sat down. A little frosty faced I thought at first to be quite honest. All I could get from spirit was a young man, maybe late 20's early 30's and a sound. That was it. I asked her "Is this young man your son?"... already rattled that I couldn't seem to get through her spook barrier. It doesn't happen often but it happens. "Yes" she said.

I think during our hour together I may have validated her Mother but that was about it. Drawing to a close with the admission I was struggling, a message came through from spook to tell her not to sign a contract as she was about to get ripped off. Her son in spirit was adamant and insisted I delivered the message before she left my room. That was all I could get - other than the odd vision or word from one of her parents but I certainly couldn't do a full one hour reading, I drew a blank for most of it.

A few weeks later *Rosie called me to tell me she had indeed received a contract and wanted to know if I would mind taking a look at it. I did and I advised her not to sign it.  It was a publishing contract for the story of her son's brutal murder to be ghost written. It also involved telling how the justice system in the relevant jurisdiction had handled it. As we were talking on the telephone I could see her son in spirit *Richard sitting on the end of the bed clicking a pen and grinning at me.  I explained this and also told Rosie although I knew what he was up to but there was an ethical and moral issue with my taking over the project as I had advised her not to sign the contract. She had to find someone else to write the story. I simply could not write the story for her as it would look like my advice was deliberate to get the work for myself, and therefore make money out of my recommendation and in my capacity as the owner of a publishing company.

Next day I was making coffee and I felt someone behind me, I had a song in my head that I had no idea where it came from either. I was feeling quite frisky! Full of fun like I needed to find someone to play a trick on or something! I turned around and there was Richard in spirit but coming to me in the physical, grinning, making fun of me, singing and dancing, calling me short of all things (he is right by the way!). The next time I spoke with Rosie I told her about her son pranking me, she said "Yes, he used to do that to me all the time!"

A few weeks (I think it was weeks and not days) later I woke in the night. I knew I was awake because I could hear the rain on the roof and two possums having a hissing match in the tree by the window. I settled to go back to sleep and suddenly felt bitterly cold. I know it wasn't as sudden as I thought now because I had clearly drifted off into my spook space. The events that followed next were more like a nightmare than a vision or spiritual message. I can't begin to describe it and I won't because Richard's Mum will read this and she doesn't need that all over again. Suffice to say Richard had taken me through the events leading to his death. Let me make something quite clear..Richard was NOT a criminal, a drug dealer, violent, aggressive, prone to fighting or anything like that. He was a normal loving father of four.

The feeling stayed with me like a bad dream that I just couldn't shake off. Visions of greenery, feelings of cold and noise that meant nothing to me, kept entering and leaving my head as if to remind me of something I had never actually experienced. As a medium you have to tread carefully with anyone who has lost a child. I had learned a hard and emotionally brutal  lesson earlier in the year on the same subject and was wary to say the least but something kept nagging at me about this. It took me a few weeks to actually tell Rosie about it and she confirmed that some of the feelings and sights I had seen were possibly true. I say possibly because we can only rely on evidence from the murderers and where Richard's body was found. I was devastated that another human being, let alone three youths could take someone else's life as a form of entertainment.

Eventually I agreed with Rosie to write the book, you got me Richard you smooth talking gorgeous man you. Having a background in law, publishing and being a medium it seemed to make perfect sense to us, and clearly to Richard weeks before we caught on!. The only condition was that I was not to be paid, in kind or otherwise. I had to maintain my moral as well as my professional ethic, not to mention a clear conscience.

Obviously as a medium Rosie asked me if the book would do well. I had nothing from my own spooks on the subject. I still couldn't read for her. Now and again I would "feel" Richard and I remember one incident that made us both laugh. I was in the shower and through the glass I could see Richard, what's more, he had bought a friend with him! Explaining the friend and the circumstances of his death Rosie confirmed she knew who it was and he was a friend of Richards. I could "see" him (Richard) but most times I got nothing from him by way of messages or predictions. The same with Rosie's parents, I could see them, describe them but rarely was I able to give Rosie anything of substance other than a validation they were there. It irritated me that I couldn't read for her and worried me a little that my radar was bent!

Then about a week ago, some eight months later we were doing an interview session for the book and Rosie mentioned a medium she knew in her hometown. Rosie said "If she had been accurate I would have been on the phone to her every night," and then a quiet voice beside me in spirit said "Do you understand now Honey?"  The penny dropped. I was to write the book, but as a result of that and to prevent me being hurt like the previous time and more importantly to allow Rosie to continue through the grieving process to find her own way of coping, I was cut off by spirit.

Had I been able to connect with Richard easily of course any grieving Mother would want that all of the time rather than learning to let go and remember the happy times. As a consequence if Rosie was constantly talking to her friend who could read for her, Richard's journey would be hindered and Rosie would never come out the other side of her grief and back into the light of day. There was also the risk I would be hurt again and as P said, "No darling, you have done that lesson, you don't need to do it again..." Richard wanted the book written. Richard knew his Mother was going to get something different than normal out of our meeting. I firmly believe the little so and so engineered it!

It is true..spirit moves in mysterious and sometimes 'obvious after the fact' ways.

The book will be completed in 2016.

Soul mates or just friends?

Thursday September 11 2014

This was a good question posted on my Facebook page by the lovely Blanche. There were quite a few responses some for and some against the theory that we either all have one, do but sometimes never find them or don't.

Can't help thinking that some of the non believers were swayed a little in their opinions by the fact they haven't found someone they consider their soul mate, rather than an absolute I don't think so.

Some people posted stuff about tribes. Seriously the thought of yours truly running around the universe in a grass skirt brandishing a spear looking for love is kind of scary. Having said that it's exactly how I have done it so far in this life so maybe not! Just kidding! So what do Arty and P have to say about this?

The first thing is the usual thing. At a spiritual level we are all energy. Just as we have talked about two negatives making a positive that can fuel malevolence, two positives make even more positive. A stronger charge if you like. So if you are of similar energy, well yes it would feel more like a fit than if you weren't. Don't confuse similar energy with "similar personality," its not the same.

There is no doubt about life after death and little doubt about reincarnation. Life after death we can almost prove to a certainty, but reincarnation we can only validate in places. If I told you that you had met your husband, wife or partner in a last life I can't prove it. I can read for you and validate that Grandma Edie liked ginger nut biscuits and jam donuts though. So it's a tough call to say you know someone from a previous life and absolutely believe it.

The human self has senses as well as the spiritual sense. What? Never heard the phrase "eye candy"! So some attractions are visual and human, then by virtue of a common human path we form a bond. Most marriages (legal and non legal) fail because of external influences. Oh yeah! Bet you didn't know that! Whether it is stress, finance, the little strumpet from the office or the big hunk from the stationery room... or whatever. So there is quite a lot of human input and output into the soul mate thing. Some women only want a rich husband, some men only want big bazonkas. Again nothing spiritual about that if you narrow the field before you even get on it to play!

The other thing is many of us tend to settle for someone who is kind of right rather than be alone. We are all intrinsically afraid of being alone in our old age. There is nothing spiritual about that either. I have read for so many people who's partners are clearly not soul mates. So how can you possibly expect to find yours if you stay in a relationship that's destructive? I am rambling. So I will stop. The point I am trying to make is, it isn't a done deal that you meet a soul mate because there is too much human influence. Nor is it a done deal that you have one and to be honest I get the word "fable" from Arty so shoot us both dead right now...oh wait. Just me...Just shoot me!

Neither is (stick with me we are going somewhere with this) is your alleged soul mate a romantic partner. Let's not get carried away . Just because it's good sex doesn't mean they are your soul mate! Wrrrrongggg! We are humans and sometimes the human choices we make severely cock up the spiritual path we are supposed to be on! That's why we get to come back..over...and over...and over...again!

So, about soul mates? Spiritually yes I do feel we have energetic connections more so with some than others. Yes I believe sometimes we come across energies that we 'remember" and we don't know where from. Yes if one of your lessons is how you treat your partner you might have to come back and do it again but it doesn't mean you are his soul mate. It means you were a bitch the first time and poisoned him probably!

I don't believe in the whole tribe thing either. Arty mentioned nothing about that kind of thing when we spoke, neither did P. Naming tribes is like discriminating or labelling and neither Arty, P or I believe the universe does that. I believe we as individuals learn our particular lesson which then makes us a part of a collective soul, we have the "human race" for the human experience and the "collective soul" for the spiritual lesson.  Same as a gaggle of geese or a herd of cows right?

Like attracts like, same as in humans we tend to gravitate to communities where we fit in and in the same way we operate spiritually. We will tend to gravitate (maybe even literally) toward similar energies. . So when like souls come together they can achieve and feel so much more because the positive strength is stronger.  I have found one of the most common "soul mate" combinations is mother and son. The biggest myth about soul mates is that it HAS to be romantic. There are people in their lifetime who never have a fulfilling and happy relationship, it's just so so for however long. There are others who find Mr or Mrs Right and live happily ever after.

Yes there is spiritual influence. maybe your great Aunt Edna mixes it a little so you meet Mr Right or Miss Right. I've experienced it happen when a loved one who has passed over has meddled in affairs of the heart. By the same token neither Arty, P or Me are of the belief that there is someone out there every time who is perfect for you during the human experience.

There are definitely those out there who you may have encountered in another incarnation but how can the modern world possibly subscribe to the theory that everything we do in the human is pre ordained and so we have to meet them again, either because it was so good or so bad (remember you poisoned him ok!)? We are here to make human choices and the more we rely on or make assumptions about spirit the less we learn as humans and the more times we go through the revolving door. Just love that's all you need to do. Honour your emotions and don't cheat yourself out of love just because you think spook is going to slap a soul mate at your doorstep soon because "they have to.."

That will be two cents please :)

What the Hell is Heaven and How Do I Get There?

Thursday July 26, 2014

I thought this question was well worth the Daily Spook treatment so thanks Kate for grilling me and my spooks! It is actually something that is addressed in my book and a question I am often asked. Well, not me personally as I have to confess when I answer questions it is generally with the help of Arty, P and others! Let's just set the scene for the answer...

Why is it that only the good die young? Surely if you are good you don't deserve to die young at all? Does that mean if you're bad you should die as soon as you have unleashed your badness upon someone? Picture this; a man loses his job in wartime England. He has four children, a wife and no means of putting food on the table for his family.  So, he steals a few loaves of bread. Is he a thief that should be condemned or a man that will do anything for his family regardless of the consequences to him?  So what we have to decide first Kate is the definition of "good" and "bad."

Goodness or badness it seems, and  according to spirit is based on intent. Our bread-thief didn't want to get away without paying, he wanted to feed his family. Let's assume a person has a drink problem that manifests itself because of underlying psychological issues. Our man Joe didn't want to be a drunk it's just that it developed over time as a means of coping with a life he couldn't cope with sober. When Joe get's poodled, he beats his wife and children. When he sobers up he is filled with self loathing and can't bear to think about what he has done.  Joe is ill. That doesn't mean to say what he is doing is ok, no no no! The clincher here is whether Joe chooses to get help because he knows his impulses and addictions are wrong and hurting others. Joe doesn't go to hell for being a violent drunk, he goes to hell (well he doesn't actually go anywhere but you know what we mean) because he won't do anything about it and therefore makes others needlessly suffer.

Annie goes to church religiously, every Sunday of her life best frock and hat. Kitty can't be bothered with all that hoo har but has a strong faith in God. She prays by her bed at night, asks God for help when things are bleak and thanks God when things come up roses. Does Annie get a better seat at St Peters dining table whilst Kitty has to have jam sandwiches with the sinners? No. Why? Because we are taught that the universe, your God, my God is not judgmental. All love in spirit is equal once we get there. Church is a social thing, people who share a common faith and a common way of wanting to celebrate it and not a way of racking up brownie points so you get a window seat on a comfy cloud!

So..now we have that sorted, sort of, we have to get to heaven and hell. Well Kate the short answer is no; because there is no physical place because there is no physical about the afterlife at all. The only way Arty feels it can be explained without adding confusion is that heaven and hell are a state of mind or a state of being.  The purpose of the afterlife is to allow us to redeem ourselves, review our thoughts and deeds and hopefully make a better go of it next time and so we carry on with our spiritual journey.

There is no doubt as a reader, I have encountered angry spooks, happy spooks, kind spooks who have helped me and mean spooks who have tried to do the opposite. So it doesn't follow that once we die we go through the heavenly sheep dip and come out whiter than white the other side, all forgiven and penitent. No we tend to hang around in our "human spiritual form" for a while until we and those who love us accept the finality of our exit from the mortal world. For a while we remain exactly who we were but with no physical attributes. It is another way of learning and if you like, the intermediate experience to being a spirit real. We are a human spirit at first and that is why we can retain our original selves and where they fit within our human environment.

Once we progress from that point (and as an aside we can come back from that and interact with the human but that's for another day), according to my beloved Arty, we go through a phase called "the knowing". Arty calls it that to explain what it is, rather than there being a big door with a flashing neon sign that says "This way to the Knowing!" This is really the "heaven" or the "hell" that we think of as a place of flames and a little red guy with a pointy stick, or clouds and lollipops as far as the eye can see. When we go through this we have to feel, and that is the key to the knowing it should perhaps really be called "the feeling."

It's not a movie of our life because we have no eyes and what's the point in watching something you already know anyway? If you were a thief and you denied it in court and got away with it you will only deny it again! The knowing is about feeling the impact of our thoughts, and deeds. I had violent parents, so let's say when they pass on they will have to feel how I felt as a child. Trapped, beaten and no where to run. They will also feel the physical pain of each blow as it happened when they were in the living. On the flip side if you are a good person you will feel that which you bestowed on others by being kind and good. You may be a mix? Someone who started out on a wrong path but righted it. You don't get to avoid the grubby bits just because you made good, you still have to do both.

We also go through a healing process whether we are deemed good or bad. No soul is returned to earth broken or damaged that is something we do to ourselves. Most of us bear battle scars of human life when we get to the next world. Whether it is as an abused child, a starved prisoner, a tortured mind or a physical disability we are healed and made whole again ready to go onward; maybe back into the human world or maybe a higher spiritual progression.

The payoff? That is a really human concept. What do I get when I die if I'm good when I am alive? There is definitely no bag of lollies, new car or holiday for two to the Bahama's if you live a good life and why should there be? A good life is what is expected of us when we first get here on earth in human form.

The payoff for good is peace and spiritual progression, the value of which we never truly know until we get there.

Similarly if you are evil it can be traumatic. I remember for a few years seeing the spirit of a ne'er do well family member who had been quite quite evil in his life. I wanted no connection with him and so he was always outed from my spook space and ignored.   I wondered why he kept coming around me, I despised him for his evil ways as did many others. The one night I was "dreaming" of P as she sat on my bed she said "You have to forgive him." I knew instinctively who she meant, and realised that his "hell" was not being healed or progressing because forgiveness wasn't forthcoming. To make matters worse for this troubled spook he was (even as a spirit) afraid of going on to the knowing because he feared having to feel the physical pain and emotion of his misdeeds. In some ways he had learned a lesson and the mid-plane existence was his hell. He eventually did make it through the veil to the other side and I saw him a couple of years ago and this time I didn't feel the evil, dark fear and hatred he just felt like every other spook! he even smiled. Which gave me the creeps, just a little. Alright a lot!

As usual I do hope mine and Arty's collaborative effort make sense; all or in part!

Divining with the Divine

Tuesday June 17, 2014

The latin word of origin for divination (telling the future) actually means to foresee but has also been translated as "inspired by God." Essentially what divination or reading with tools is, is taking a random object, series of events (fall of the cards for example) or signs and symbols and put them together to interpret the meaning for the person with the issue they need advice on.

One of the things that differs for each reader is how we do it. What we need as clue cards to the message we are trying to bring through for the sitter.  Tea leaves, coffee grounds, cards, pendulum, crystals or tarot cards the tools are many and varied. Most people who use tools will later go on to trust their own intuition and spirits. Other chose to stay with the prompts and hints of visual aids and are still as good a readers. Me personally my preferred "tool" is spirit. I cannot read for anyone unless I have a spook present. I need to see that spirit or at least feel them before I can kick off the read.

In the early ages seers, mediums etc who had no tools to speak of were thought to be witches or warlocks, subjected to horrible'punishment' because no one could actually see where or how they were getting their information from. I believe, as do many others, that Jesus was one of the first mediums and in some ways he literally put the fear of God into people with his abilities, even though he only sought to do good with them it frightened people and for wanting to do what so many of us do nowadays, he was crucified.

So how does it work? Does a big invisible hand come down from the sky and create patterns and chose cards for us? How can it possibly be preordained what cards will come up? Seeing in crystal balls etc is just a confidence trick of the best kind. Because it really isn't a trick at all. Using a tool in that way gives the reader confidence that she or he can "see" her own visions rather than trust in something we hear or see but not with our biological ears or eyes. It is the same with the practice of psychometry, the practice of holding a piece of jewellery or item that belongs to the querent is said to be so the reader can "feel the vibrations" of the sitter. precious metals have their own molecular structure and vibration and so to assume that intermingled with the scientific composition of a precious metal there can be any kind of human element, is scientifically ridiculous.  Sure sweat, DNA and your Avon hand cream might rib off but there is no part of you as a person that is "absorbed" by a ring or a watch. I had a dear friend who used to read that way and she was brilliant. One day I asked her why she did it that way and she said "To be honest kid, I just need to do something with my hands because I can't smoke inside!" God love her and so did I! she was just a darned good medium who needed a spiritual "blankey" to comfort her during readings!

I am a firm believer in the notion that spirit can influence things in the physical. I don't believe anything is preordained though because as a medium one of the pre-read cautions is, "This is what is here for you now, you can take it or leave it." That is also why when using tools, particularly tarot cards that if you throw them twice you won't get the same cards. If life was pre ordained you would. it's as simple as that. So declining the notion that we can meld with a piece of precious metal I DO believe (and so do Arty and P) that when Tarot cards, crystal balls, rune stones etc are being used, there is an energetic influence at play. You shuffle the cards and even if you don't hear it maybe that inner voice says "stop and split now."

Pendulums are another energetically influenced means of divination but what never ceases to amaze me is the number of people who think because it moves it is telling the truth! Do you KNOW how many spooks  are around at any given time? It isn't always who you think it is influencing the movement of a pendulum and if you aren't a medium and can't see that then you are playing with fire. Opening an energetic door that you might not be able to close to easily. it is the same with ouja boards, unless you really know what you are doing it is a dangerous practice and nothing like reading tea leaves or coffee grinds because with such methods (pendulum, ouja etc) you are effectively summoning spirit. Sometimes they just don't like that, especially as the world gets more and more conceited and selfish in it's use of spiritual communication.

So, in short there are two ways of using tools. One is a placebo effect; crystal balls, psychometry etc. Things that don't move and all you can possibly do is use them as a prompt or confidence booster from the spooks around you. The other is something which the energy of the universe may or may not be influencing; which cards are drawn, which runes come out, which way the pendulum swings.

Whatever your method it is important to clearly understand that you need ot have the connection and the protection before you begin. You have to be psychic or a medium to read with any kind of divination tools, so really why use them at all?? Good point me!

A Spooky Adventure - Midnight at the Moulin Rouge

Thursday June 12, 2014

If you have been hanging out on my Facebook page you will know that recently we have been looking at doing some documentaries on all things spooky. Sort of medium meets scientist if you like. One of the things I don’t want to do was EVP’s in prisons, mental homes, hospitals. I mean pardonne moi for stating the obvious but hasn’t that been “done to death?” I rather like the idea of identifying the resident off worlders, connecting with them and then doing all that kind of stuff. Give them a name, a face and a story. After all that is probably why they are there, they want to be heard.

Here is Part I of what happened on my recon mission to a Queensland brothel that was reported to be haunted. Before I start let me just say this; don’t you go getting all judgemental with me because it’s a brothel.  You WILL get an argument out of me aif you do but this isn’t the place to do it. God is NOT judgmental so you don’t have the right to be either. Suffice to say ALL of the people I met on my research affair were the nicest people. Kind, accommodating and deserving of your respect.

Now onto the dead ones. Let me state without a shadow of a doubt…it is haunted!  One of the things I like to do when we know we have a throng of spooks waiting is to talk to them. Upon arrival there was a short-ish man in spirit who just seemed to make me laugh but was like the smart kid at the front of the classroom shooting his hand up "Miss! Miss! Pick Me! Pick Me!". Although I could only see him in my spook space, he was a complete dag and seemed to be up to all sorts of antics. He didn’t feel like he belonged at the Moulin Rouge (not the real name of the establishment so God help me if there really is one called that because it’s not your place..ok?) He felt like he was with someone who was there. We eventually had a little chat, validated him and who he was with and he hung around a while to see what was going on. He even told me where to look and where not to go. Thanks Dad! You know who I mean..no not my Dad you idiot…I don’t actually know who he is. Ooops wandering off…ok back now!

Walking around with the Manager of the Red Windmill he was telling me where the lurking spooks were reported to have been seen by the girls. It was important I didn’t know too much in case it looked like a set up.  Dad wasn’t even mentioned before he introduced himself so I think they got that I was intending on acting like a pork chop with integrity!  There were definitely good and bad energies, entities and spirits there.  Some lurking and some shoving me on the stairs or tapping me on the shoulder. In the end we had three main players and two family members that we could positively identify. The main spirit-players; Mr G, Skinny Guy and Mary. The gatecrashers; Dad and Margaret. I would like to apologise to Margaret for not realising who she was straight away.  Sorry Margaret.

There was no doubt there were cold and warm spots in the establishment. Similarly I felt both friendly "Hey stop for a chat" energies as well as some less endearing spirits.  One of them hissed at me and said "Go away you big baby" but that was later on.

Once we can “feel” there is someone around in spirit I like take photo’s lots of them because it's really only one in one hundred that you get anything in the frame. Even that doesn’t always work and to be honest I have only met one spiritual being who will be photographed on demand. Most times I see them, click and they are gone and I am left with just a splurgy light thingy when the image comes out.   Having said that once I decided to take photos the bizarre stuff kicked off. Remember, I am a a pork chop with integrity, there were witnesses to everything.

I took photos all over the place but the camera would not work in one particular room ( in the living area for the girls) with one particular person in it. You know who you are Lollipop!. After trying all three cameras I bought with me to cover off "equipment failure" I decided to leave it and carry on about the place taking pictures, clicking and flashing like an old pro myself I was!  When it came to downloading  from the memory cards there was NOTHING on any of them, nothing…except…two pictures of Lollipop.  If that wasn’t a spectacular start to the 24 hours I don’t know what was! It reminded me of the time I went to a cemetary to take pictures and record.3 hours of tape was just three seconds of  "Go away" and 211 digital pictures were all just grey fuzz like when the television programming ended in the 1960's, white noise and grey fuzzy.I know spirit can interact better with electronic equipment than some people, so I was annoyed but not surprised. I just wanted to know what the caper was though? Was someone trying to tell me not to take pictures anywhere else?

As I was walking along the hall I muttered an apology to the naked man standing in one of the bedrooms and properly averted my gaze.  I thought he was an idiot for leaving the door open when there were strangers around but I have eye balled enough bare bums in my time for it not to ruffle my feathers.  I turned around in the stairwell and the Moulin Manager was behind me coming up the stairs. To protect the innocent I shall refrain from describing under what circumstances and his attire but I almost peed my pants laughing! I quizzed Lollipop who was the other guy? I feared the two and only males on the floor would be in cahoots playing practical jokes on me all night. Lolly casually responded that there was no other man in the building. Gosh! Naked spook bum! He looked so real and usually when I see spirit in the physical environment they are grainy or don’t hold there for long but in this instance this perky pink derriere looked jolly real to me! My very first naked spook!

Two things became obvious when it came to pinpointing the most ethereal activity; around the pool table was definitely spook central and Mary liked to walk the hall upstairs with a frosty look on her face. I feel she considered herself house-mistress for the girls.  At one point I was sure I saw an older man leaning against the pool table, looking directly at me. Time and time again as I passed a black leather chair I saw someone sitting there as if they were waiting for their turn at pool. Then there was the tall dark shadow that I am sure was not good, it loomed over the pool table like the dark miserable energy it was.  Skinny Guy liked to hang out by the kitchen door or in one of the bathrooms. Which had frightened many of the girls already. Not least little Miss Sarina who simply refused to go in one particular room unless she had an armed guard and a string of garlic!

Taking the first daylight photos this is what we got. Now let me tell you that usually spiritual energy is more active at night.  I have said before that Arty explained this is because of the less unnatural light and the slowing of human energies.  It is easier to manifest at night than in the day but you will see from these photos those we had connected with were giving it a red hot go to be seen.

I had managed a spook-up (like a hook up but spooky!) with Mr G who explained he was in his late 50’s and worked for himself when he hopped off the human merry go round. He owned a business, had one daughter and was separated from his wife. He didn’t say divorced he clearly said separated. His family he felt had used him and not been as genuine as they could have been and when he had a heart attack (too much rich food and wine he smiled). They were “faster to the bank than they were to the funeral home.”

That was a little sad as he struck me as such a genuine man. Salt of the earth type who got where he got through hard graft without any tricks or handouts. In fact he confirmed he had no handouts and he started things from scratch. When I asked him his business he said “manufacturing and insurance.” The two don’t really go together but we were located in a semi industrial area so I pondered whether he was actually from the area and the word insurance was just a furphy.  Maybe he had a local factory in the same area but decided to hang around the girls rather than his family? he mentioned he was there because he wanted company and I never thought at the time to ask him how a spook becomes lonely! His story made sense to me and is worthy of some local research to back it up.

Tomorrow I will ramp it up a little as the evening goes on and tell you about Skinny Guy (heads up he is a voyeur…tsk…tsk). For now let’s evidence where we pinpointed ‘the action” to be…..a demain mes enfants! See you tomorrow kids!  Bis morgen kinder!
