The Scanlon Foundation aspires to see Australia advance as a welcoming, prosperous and cohesive nation particularly related to the transition of migrants into Australian society.

A Message to Our Supporters

Over the past two decades, the Scanlon Foundation has become a leading advocate for Australia’s social cohesion, funding research, programs and initiatives that have built on our country’s strong foundations of diversity and changed the way we build inclusive communities.

Recently, the Foundation’s Board endorsed Sophie Duggan as its new Chair and Alex Scanlon as Deputy Chair.   Peter Scanlon AO will remain patron and board director. Together with the Board and management Sophie will steward the Foundation through its next phase.

Dr Sonja Hood has been appointed as the Foundation’s CEO, from July 1.  Sonja will work closely with the CEOs of the Foundation’s satellite organisations – Anthea Hancocks at the Scanlon Foundation Research Institute, Aleem Ali at Welcoming Australia, and Rebecca Kotow at Community Hubs Australia, and lead the Scanlon Foundation so it remains at the forefront of championing Australia’s social cohesion.
