Description

Hello, my name is Charlie and I am the original owner of this beautiful vessel. In August of 1983, I attended the Sandusky, Ohio boat show on the water on Lake Erie, which featured several of the new Formula models for 1984. One of the boats featured that day was the Formula F-18 LS, in an all black gel coat. I immediately fell in love with it; however, it was already spoken for. The following weekend I went to Lake Erie Boat Sales in Willowick, Ohio and ordered the exact identical boat. The only difference in the boat that I ordered was the engine being the 4 cylinder versus the V8. In 1984, Formula only made 3 boats of the 18 foot size in this particular model with the all black gel coat. My boat is the only one that came equipped with the 4 cylinder engine. This truly is an original classic collector’s item, being that it is 21 years old. You are not going to find another one like it anywhere else in the world.

It has the Mercruser-470 inboard/outboard 4 cylinder 170 HP engine. This boat is still brand new and has only 357.1 hours of use. And when I say brand new, I mean literally, it is “brand new”! It has always been garage kept when not in use. The full custom canvas storage cover was always put back on to protect the interior. The engine has been started every summer, and it has always ran flawlessly. It has always been winterized every November for the off season. Everything is 100% original. I have all documentation providing the complete history of this boat.

This boat was used seasonally from 1984-1990. When it was in the water, it was in for that particular day. And may I add, it was always in fresh water and never in salt water. Every single time the boat was removed from the water, it was carefully washed and dried back to brand new condition, including the complete interior.

This boat has a closed bow with room in the cuddy to shelter two people, or any type of equipment that you would like to stow away. There is a floor storage that will accommodate anchors, buoys, ropes, and whatever else you may require. The floor storage door is made of teakwood. There is a Jenson AM/FM Stereo cassette player with 2 Jenson 6 x 9 speakers, and an engine hour meter. It has a lockable glove box and built in drink holders. There are 2 front swivel bucket seats, and 1 bench back seat that has under seat storage capability for several life jackets, etc. Water skis can also be comfortably accommodated within the open side compartments. There are twin boarding platforms, and a water ski tow eye. And for lying out in the sun, there is a very comfortable padded aft-sun lounge. The engine compartment stores the bimini top.

As far as performance goes, with this 4 cylinder 170 HP Mercruiser, cruising speeds of up to 48-50 MPH can be reached with no problem at all and you will love the fuel economy. And as far as pulling up skiers....NO PROBLEM! This boat weighs approximately 2,600 lbs, and the trailer takes a 2" ball.

Accessories include a Lowrance 3,100 depth finder, several life jackets, anchor and ropes, fire extinguisher, and of course water skis with a ski rope!

The boat sits on a Galaxy single axle slat trailer. The tires are still brand new.
