Upgrading from 1.3.x - Just want Customers

I'm about to upgrade my site from 1.3.9f to 1.5.1.

I have a number of older add-ons that impacted the database that I no long want. I also want to do a complete reset of my inventory and catagories.

I don't care about anything in the database other than customer information. Only the customers, not their order history.

Can I create a clean database for 1.5.1 and import the customers and customers_info tables without causing any other issues?

If your items are listed on google, bing & others changing them now means you start over

No. You will need the address_book table also.

But, as stated above, your stated plan will have SEO consequences too.

Now that is the best reason I've come across to upgrade the DB instead of starting from scratch.

create a new DB
Then just install current version in a folder
Then you can import your live DB into the new DB
Copy images
Install addons
Test - test - & test until you are satisfied that it operates as you want
Then replace/move this install to where your current install is - edit both configure.php files to reflect the move
Total down time should be no more than 30 minutes
