Project Execution Plan)  for use on Olympic Dam Expansion Project for detailing, procurement of steel, invoice payments, transport payments, transport movement, bar coding and reports.  Enlighten design teams on the advantages of Xsteel.  Coordinate all detailing status through to fabrication and delivery to site.  Information stored in an Excel spreadsheet.

All drawings were produced on AutoCAD R10 using my own customised steel overlay menu AutoSTEEL.

 

1986 - 1990  OWN BUSINESS, BRISBANE

Worked from home preparing design and detail drawings for oil refineries, industrial and commercial projects including structural, civil and landscape using AutoCAD.

Worked for 4 months at OK TEDI (Papua New Guinea).

Purchased AutoCAD in 1986 and have worked with the package ever since, upgrading at each release update.  In that time I have learnt many aspects of AutoLISP programming as well as customizing the menu system.

Wrote a package in AutpLISP to draw construction drawings for concrete tilt up panels called TILT-A-PANEL and also a steel menu to parametrically draw various steel sections AutoSTEEL.

 

1985 - 1986 WHOLOHAN GRILL & PARTNERS PTY LIMITED, SALE

DESIGN DRAFTSMAN

Design and detailing for offshore and onshore structural projects in Gippsland, including -

Design and installation drawings for a bundled pipeline for Bass Strait.

Design and installation drawings for the initial transfer of Shelf drilling Rig 12, from Cobia Platform to Snapper platform with modifications for ancillary structures and equipment.

Design and installation drawings of windwalls for Flounder and Fortescue platform pipe racks.

Design and installation drawings of 43m high radio tower for West Kingfish B platform.

Drawings for the replacement of a 500mm diameter valve on Halibut platform including temporary rise clamps.

Drawings for Mini-Platform studies.

Drawings for an Ocean Outfall study.

Design drawings for various onshore structures.

Offshore drafting including working drawings and shop drawing for platforms and stairways for access to new 'first on valves' and scraper receiving stations, platform strengthening, mechanical workshops, skids, conductors and platform widening.

All above projects required site visits to the platforms in Bass Strait prior to and on completion of the engineering design and drafting to check on-site conditions and interferences.

Onshore drafting included a 92m high stack, heater modifications, vessel modifications, stairs and ladders, pipe-racks, level and theodolite surveys, effluent and skim lakes and associated mechanical work and budget estimates for various energy conservation projects, all for petrochemical refineries in Melbourne and Adelaide.

Worked for two companies in New Zealand starting as trainee structural draftsman and finishing as senior draftsman before shifting to Australia in October, 1976.

Projects included industrial and commercial buildings, hospitals, feasibility studies, coral reef excavations, theodolite and level surveys.
