Places to stay - Heading to A-Bay in May with a few mates. Any reccomendations on places to stay? Budget not really an issue. A few posts say the sand points wont be working yet. This correct? Hopefully not so many Israelis in May though?

crowed - been in A bay on last September October and the main point was super crowded, tons of Israelis and Aussies' take it into considerations.

Board Rental - Just wondering if there's anywhere to rent extra boards near A Bay?

Aruguam Bay in February? - Anyone visited A-bay in Feb and would like to share some knowledge regarding if there is swell or not at that time of the season? (We're on a surfari Jan to April and could make it in April instead with some changes of plans...)
Thanks & Good surf on ya,
Anders

to go or not? - Im currently on the west coast scoring good but not amazing waves around the Hikkaduwa area. i am thinking about heading over to Abay but im having trouble getting info about the whether its the right time of year (swell/wind)or if its worth the hassle. has anyone got any tips? Ive also herd that the Israeli factor is pretty intense and although Ive got nothing against them i know what there like in the surf. is this true.

Cheers

aragum bay travel - take train from Colombo to Matara, then take an express bus to arugum bay...long travel over 8hours

Hikkaduwa - Arugam Bus connection - To get to Arugam Bay you need to first catch the bus from Hikkaduwa to Ambalangoda 20 mins up the road. This is the transport hub. Many options from here, but you might want to catch the bus to Ampara, then switch to get to Pottuvil. You can walk to Arugam from pottuvil or pay 150 rupees for the tuktuk. Rooms should cost 500 rupees, don't pay more than this unless you want luxury.

Arugam Bay - I just went surfing there, Chaminda from Lankasurftrips took care of me... got picked up from Hilton in Colombo drove through the night ... and score surf the next day... Beatiful trip... very nice place. Surf is not "Big" but fun... 3" is the biggest I saw on my stay.
