Remarkable Minds is an award winning in-home parenting and behaviour support agency. Our aim is to equip you with the tools and strategies you need in order to manage and encourage more positive behaviour and help improve everyday activities with your child.

At Remarkable Minds we will offer individually customised consultations and programs to suit your family and their needs. We realise that your child is unique and therefore adapt methods to best suit your family. By offering an in-home service we know that your children are more likely to respond positively to methods implemented in their comfort zone and in familiar surroundings.

Funda Yolal – Director, Principal Psychologist and Parenting Expert

Funda Yolal is the director at Remarkable Minds Psychology. She is a registered psychologist and has completed a Master of Health Science (Behavioural Science) at University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Sociology) at University of New South Wales. Funda has over 15 years of experience implementing programs for children and working with parents and caregivers on behaviour management, social skills, communication skills, academic skills and daily living skills. She has also worked with children and adults with special needs conditions including down syndrome, autism, intellectual disability, and cerebral palsy.

Funda has been involved with various methods, including but not limited to, Positive Behaviour Support and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), DIR/Floortime, Play Therapy, Triple P Parenting, and 1,2,3 Magic. As an experienced psychologist, Funda draws on the best approach for each family and helps distressed parents get results. Funda has great interest in cultural awareness and has published numerous articles in newspapers about culturally diverse children with special needs and effective therapies. Funda is regularly featured in news articles and she enjoys keeping up-to-date with research around parenting and child development. She also trains staff at schools and daycares on best practice approaches.

As a psychologist and a parent, Funda is always on the hunt for the best quality educational games, books, resources and strategies to best facilitate a child’s learning and development. Funda has launched an on-line parenting and resource store: Tiny Living Co., where you’ll find educational toys, activities and resources to help a child’s learning and emotional development.

As the mother of three beautiful children, she understands how important a positive and loving environment is. It is our goal at Remarkable Minds Psychology to help you create this kind of environment in your home.

Priya Gauchan - Provisional Psychologist / Behaviour Consultant

Priya is a Behaviour Consultant, with a Bachelor in Psychological Science from University of New South Wales and a Graduate Diploma in Psychological Science from Bond University. She is currently completing a Master in Clinical Psychology at Australian College of Applied Psychology.

Priya has a passion for working with children of all ages. She is experienced in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disprder and other developmental disorders. Her educational background and experiences have equiped her with knowledge in play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, applied behaviour analysis, and positive psychology practices such as mindfulness.

Priya believes that all children deserve the opportunity to grow, learn and express themselves. She understands that each child is unique, and always aims to build upon a child’s existing strengths while alleviating their own set of challenges. She values the role parents play in a child’s development. She works with parents to foster understanding and create an optimal environment for a child to flourish. Additionally, when requested she works with teachers and other therapists working with the child to provide an integrated approach to therapy.

Priya enjoys playing the guitar, singing, painting and writting. She has a keen interest in using art for therapeutic purposes and incorporates creative activities in her sessions.

Daniel Yammine - Provisional Psychologist / Behaviour Consultant

Daniel is a Behaviour Consultant here at Remarkable Minds Psychology; He has a Bachelor in Psychology completed at WSU and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychological sciences from ACAP; He is pursuing the completion of his honours this year.

Daniel has worked as a social educator in disability services for several years; working with adults with a range of physical and mental disabilities, including ASD. He believe's that every child is different, irrespective of their diagnosis and requires an individual-centred approach based on their specific needs.

Daniel has worked with a range of children and also has a great amount of experience working with adolescents-adults; giving him an insight into the application and benefit of early intervention approaches and how they might develop later in life.

Daniel is interested in theories of personality development, theoretical learning approaches and complex post-traumatic stress. His personal interests surround technology, fitness and nutrition and writing. Engaging in our environment, Expressing our experience and keeping a healthy mind and body are extremely important values for Daniel.

Carol Utens - Behaviour Consultant

Carol is one of the Behaviour Consultants at Remarkable Minds Psychology. Carol is an enthusiastic professional with over 10 years’ experience in the mental health setting with adults and children. She specialises in working with children with various social-emotional challenges and creates fun activities to practice with behaviour.

Carol has a Bachelor in Sports & Physical Education and a Bachelor Health Care in Psychomotor (play) therapy. Recently, she graduated from her Masters in Social Work. Furthermore, Carol also gained experience in Applied Behaviour Analyses (ABA), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Carol has been working in different therapy settings such as schools, day-cares, in-home and in clinical settings.

Carol focuses on where the child and family are in their journey and supports and advises them accordingly to their needs. Carol finds her job very rewarding and is thankful to be able to contribute to a child’s bright future and that of their families.

In her spare time, Carol likes to play soccer, go for a hikes, loves to camp and travel.

Zena Chahine - Behaviour Consultant

Zena is a highly qualified and experienced psychotherapist with a strong background in behaviour therapy. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology, a Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science, and a Masters of Psychotherapy and Counselling. With a diverse range of experience in community services, including family contact supervision, youth work, NDIS support work, and working with victims in the justice system, Zena is deeply committed to helping individuals become the best versions of themselves.

Zena's work ethic is guided by a non-judgmental approach, providing a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their challenges. She has extensive experience in behaviour therapy with adults with disabilities and a history of using play therapy with children. Zena utilises a person-centered approach in her practice, focusing on the unique needs and goals of each individual. She also incorporates other therapeutic modalities, including polyvagal theory, CBT, and somatic therapy, to provide comprehensive support to her clients..

Zena is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of her clients and their families. She is looking forward to working with your family and providing empathetic understanding to challenging behaviours, with the goal of providing relief and helping individuals achieve positive outcomes.

Taryn Glover - Behaviour Consultant

Taryn is a Behaviour Consultant who has completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology at WSU. She is passionate about helping children with additional needs and endeavours to continue her studies into Speech Pathology in the future.

Taryn has experience working as Behavioural Therapist and has worked to positively impact the lives of many children with Autism. She has been trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and other Positive Behaviour Support frameworks. By using positive reinforcement as well as a play-based approach, she strives to create a sense of independence and confidence within each child. She has worked with many children between the ages of 3 and 16 in group and individual settings. With these children she uses different strategies to suit the needs of each child as every child deserves a personalised learning style.

By using her friendly and outgoing personality she works to encourage a child’s verbal and nonverbal communication, functional life skills and social skills by creating a good relationship with their families. While creating a positive relationship with the families, she has found that the children are more comfortable and confident when achieving their goals.

When she has some free time, Taryn enjoys watching classic old movies, playing with her pets, and learning new skills. She is currently trying to learn how to play the saxophone and a sewing machine.

Krisley Silva - Behaviour Consultant

Krisley has studied clinic psychology in Brazil with 3 years of supervised clinical work placements. Her training and studies have been based on Diagnostics and Psychological Interventions using Play therapy, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Humanistic Existential Psychology and Behaviour Therapy Techniques.

Krisley has extensive experience with schools catering for children with Special Needs, Learning Disorders, and behavioural difficulties. Krisley has also undergone a Social Psychology work-placement for 1 year in a Brazil Orphanage where her role was to apply Projective Tests to access clients, psycho-diagnostic and psychological interventions, individual sessions applying play therapy as well as group activities focused on the development of social skills for kids with PTSD. She also provided counselling for parents eligible for adoption as part of the adoption process.

As a Behavioural Consultant, Krisley believes that each child is unique and needs to be encouraged to have a healthy expression of their ideas, beliefs and strengths. Krisley brings a combination of skills in Psychology, training in Sports Coaching and Personal Training to promote a fun and creative atmosphere in session, as well as using evidence based techniques to embrace clients' needs and facilitate the natural development and improvement of their social and behavioural abilities.

Krisley is working towards being recognised as a Psychologist in Australia, and in the future to extend her knowledge as a Psychologist by completing a Masters Degree in Neuroscience.

In her spare time Krisley enjoys outdoor activities, going to the beach, roller skating, and exploring coffee shops.

Isabelle Nasr - Behaviour Consultant

Isabelle has completed her Bachelors of Psychology and plans on developing a progressive career in the field of Behaviour Therapy. She has been working with children on the Autism Disorder Spectrum for over 1 year aged between 1-12 years old.

Isabelle displays amazing creativity and play skills during therapy that always excites and motivates children during the session. Most of all she provides the most professional and compassionate care and quality therapy for all individuals to help them live their best life.

As a behaviour therapist she is determined on improving functional communication, social skills, and emotional regulation for her clients. In addition, she surrounds her goals based on the family's priority behaviours whether it be difficultly toilet training to enhancing the child’s expressive communication.

Overall, Isabelle’s passion has always been to reduce challenging behaviours whilst maximising positive behaviours to create a quality of life.

Emine Yolal - Junior Therapist

Emine is currently studying a Bachelor of Science and majoring in Psychology. She plans to focus her study further by completing her honours and then a Masters, of Clinical Psychology. She has been working with children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder for 2 years aged between 1-10 years. Emine is a young, dynamic and bubbly member who has a passion for working with children and improving their quality of life

As a Behaviour Therapist she has focused on improving functional communication and social skills, reducing inflexibilities and challenging behaviours, teaching daily living tasks and more. She looks forward to continuing her education and utilising her skills to help children develop to their full potential.

April Marciniak - Practice Manager

With over five years’ experience in administration, April takes great joy in supporting the team and assisting families in their time of need. She is well experienced in working with parents and children and finds it especially rewarding to be a part of their journey and helping them achieve their goals.

Working collaboratively with the team, April aims to optimise the smooth running of the practice and looks for ways to improve daily operations. Making sure everyone on the team is supported so that every family's needs are looked after is what April strives for.

April is fascinated by human psychology and is grateful to be part of a team working towards making positive changes in people’s lives.

In her spare time, April enjoys reading, writing, playing piano and spending time with friends and family.

Jaclyn Nguyen - Administrative Assistant

Jaclyn has over two years of administration experience and has a passion for people and mental health. Jaclyn is currently studying psychology and human resources at UNSW and has aspirations of becoming a clinical psychologist. Jaclyn believes in delivering a high standard of customer service and is excited to be part of the Remarkable Minds Psychology team.

In her spare time Jaclyn enjoys travelling, being active and having new experiences.
