Trumpet are an in demand and experienced Melbourne jazz band that has been together since 2009 playing 100s public and private gigs during this time. The band has had several residences around Melbourne and can be found playing as a trio at La Niche in Collingwood and other venues. Follow us on Facebook for regular gig updates. Anthony Pell
Electric Bass / Double Bass / Backing Vocals

Anthony has studied with Melbourne double bass teacher Tom Lee and is highly experienced playing in several groups including original jazz fusion band Line Matter, soul/funk group The Ruby Rogers Experience and Shirley Bassey/Judy Garland tribute shows. He has released several albums of electronic/funk/dub music under the name of Apell and has been featured in Bass Player Magazine.

He also teaches guitar and bass guitar privately with his favourite jazz bass players including Jaco Pastorius, Paul Chambers and Ron Carter.

 

 

 

 

 

David Ruiz - Vocals & Trumpet


Pat Lajoie
Guitar

Influenced by jazz guitarists Wes Montgomery, Tal Farlow, George Benson and John Scofield, Pat has had extensive experience internationally in New York and through several years working a professional guitarist on Cruise Lines throughout the world.

During these cruises Pat performed in various combinations within the on-board Show-band or playing solo guitar. Pat also holds a Master Certificate in Songwriting and a Professional Certificate in General Music Studies through the Berklee College of Music.

Pat resides in Melbourne and is a busy session guitarist, composer, and music producer. He has many original music works placed in USA based music libraries and produces music for local and international clients.

David has performed at The Paris Cat, multiple jazz festivals, and has collaborated with Melbourne Pianist Ted Woollan on several recordings. He studied and performed with Bob Sedergreen and Julie O'Hara. His favourite singers include Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.

Andrew studied drums with Australian drumming legend Peter Reed and by the age of 13 Andrew was drumming in 3 bands around Melbourne several nights a week. Since Andrew has performed throughout Australia with a range of genres and artists including Doug Armstrong (Jet), Hugh McDonald (Redgum), and jazz bassist Jeff Kluke and Hammond organ player Kim Kelaart.

He has also performed at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival with Debashish Chakraborty, Bennett's Lane Jazz Club and appeared in Maximum Rock'n'Roll and Classic Rock magazines plus had several songs appearing in the charts.

Andrew has taught drums privately for over 20 years. Andrew is as busy as ever performing regularly with several projects and teaching drums. Andrew says "Trumpet is one of my favourite ongoing long term musical collaborations".
