Chris Ho Orthodontics

What to expect at your first visit?

Chris will perform a detailed examination and assessment of your malocclusion (bad bite). Features of your malocclusion are discussed and Chris will explain how your orthodontic problems may be corrected.

NOT all the information can be obtained on your first visit. To be able to provide a comprehensive diagnosis and analysis of your malocclusion, Chris will require additional records such as X-rays, photos and impressions of your teeth.

X-rays
Referral to a radiologist is required to obtain special X-rays which will enable Chris to evaluate your teeth and jaws. He will be able to check the condition of your teeth, the health of the tooth supporting structures, the relationship of your upper and lower jaws and teeth with each other and any signs of pathology.

Clinical Photos
Photos of your facial features and teeth will be required to be taken. They will assist with treatment planning and provide a source of reference for future comparison of the changes which have occurred during orthodontic treatment.

Impressions or moulds
Impressions of your teeth are taken from which models are created. The models of your teeth and the measurements obtained from your X-rays will enable Chris to more fully diagnose your orthodontic problem.

What happens next?

After analysing your records, treatment options are presented and discussed with you. The type of orthodontic appliances required to correct your malocclusion will also be discussed. When you are happy with the proposed treatment plan, appointments may then be scheduled to commence your orthodontic treatment. Any questions you may have are happily answered by Chris.

If your teeth have not developed sufficiently to commence treatment, Chris will review your teeth at a later date. Review visits are free.
