The world of dance in which you are entering is one of beauty, enjoyment and friendship. It offers the joy of movement, a sense of rhythm, improved coordination and poise, mental and physical discipline and the appreciation of music. Whilst very few students who study dance will ever make a career for themselves in the professional theatre, the study of dance is still a hobby which can instil in those who train in its basics a sense of personal achievement and a sound grounding in personal discipline.


The success of our school is due to the commitment by teachers, students and parents. I believe in providing our pupils with a complete education in dance and find it important that they are involved in performance opportunities so that they learn to appreciate the magic of the stage

 

Our society, The Imperial Society of the Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is the worlds leading dance examination board. It is a registered educational organisation that covers the full spectrum of dance on a truly global scale.

• To achieve this the ISTD works in four main ways;

• To promote knowledge of the dance.

• To maintain and improve teaching standards.

  1. •To qualify by examination teachers of dancing

   in the ISTD.

  1. •To provide through its syllabus techniques upon

   which to train dancers for the profession
