Hullo, Alpha Stryke,
Has anyone yet played a significant number of adventures or even a campaign with this yet? I would love to hear detailed LP reports.
As noted in the previous message by Nelyhann, I've been running
Shadows of Esteren for a bit now.
I've got two gaming groups, one on Friday evenings and the other on Sunday afternoons; the link is to the most recent session of the Friday night gaming group, but both group campaigns are on my journal. Just follow the "shadows of esteren" tag for all posts related to and about Esteren. And to refresh the memory here's the link to the most recent Friday night journal entry again.

While I'm still running a few scenarios of my own devising, I will be getting to the ones out of
Book 0 - Prologue at some point soon, too.
If you have any questions about the game sessions I've run or about the game, please feel free to ask.
Among other things, I am interested in how much long term growth potential there is for PCs (i.e. leveling up), how combat is (I know it's deadly...but how deadly) and also I would like people to post up their Feondas (monsters) they have made for their games.
At this point, I can't address long-term growth potential for player characters, but I think it's there - as long as the player characters don't die in combat!
That said, I also am a bit more stingy about giving out experience points and the like because I find that character development in rpgs is too rapid.
Combat is deadly in this game system, and is over very quickly. The big battle at the end with the brigands in Session 4 for the Friday night group took less than 20 minutes, and that was with seven player characters fighting the brigands. As for how deadly it is, that depends on the type of combat systems you've played and/or run before. Ask some specific questions, that might be better.
Insofar as posting up Feondas that I've created for the game, I'm not inclined to for three reasons. First, Feondas are not supposed to necessarily be that common in the starting game (hence why Book 2 will include some creatures and beasties and more on Feondas will likely be found in Book 4, whenever it comes out), as the opposition early on should be more focused on human opponents. Second, the folks at Agate RPG have discouraged the posting of Feondas stuff other than in the Secrets of Esteren section of the forums, because they don't want players knowing about this stuff, and I don't want to see it posted here on these forums publicly. Third, and not least by any means, Feondas are very individual and specific in their own feel, and so no two Game Leaders will feel the same way about a given Feondas. That said, I may post up some of the creatures and feondas that I've created for my game over on the English YahooGroup that I've set up for discussion of the game, but we'll see. There's not a lot of folks signed up for that yet.
Oh, and the link to that mailing list is:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/shadows_of_esteren_rpg/
Haven't got a lot of folks signed up for the mailing list yet, but hopefully that will change as more people learn of it.
Lastly, does anyone know of any play by posts of this great game going on online? (english version only ofcourse)
I've actually been considering running a
Shadows of Esteren PBeM game over on YahooGroups, rather than a true PbP game. I suppose it depends on how many folks would be interested in playing in the game. We'll see if there's any more interest here in the thread.
Anyway, that's just my 2 Embers on the subject. Hope this has been of help to you.
