I have always wanted to travel. I grew up in a very religious household with very particular beliefs and ideas, and was very keen to get out into the world and experience everything it has to offer. As you can imagine, this didn't go down well with my parents, so I thought I would smooth things over by telling them I was going on an Israel tour.
Once my parents realised that religion was playing a large part in my trip, they started coming around to the idea. Over the next few weeks I was finding brochures for Holy land tours and Catholic pilgrimages everywhere, a subtle hint from my parents. I was just glad they weren't going to stop me from going.
When I started doing my research, I realised just how fantastic this opportunity I had to go travelling was. I was going to learn so much more about my religious beliefs and visit some of the sacred sites that already mean so much to me. It was decided, I booked in and am set to leave in less than a week.
