Family Migration


We know family is important to you and it’s also important to know your options. If you are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or an Eligible New Zealand Citizen. There are a number of migration visas available that will allow you to bring your family members to Australia.

There are specific categories for different family members, these are:

  • Partner Visa to Australia

    • Should your partner already be in Australia, they can apply for an 820 or 801 visa.
    • Should your partner be overseas, they can apply for a 309, 100 or a prospective marrage subclass 300 visa.

  • Parent Visa to Australia

    • Should your parent already be in Australia, permanent visa options include the 804 and the 864. These visas are for an aged parent and require that there be living children in Australia.
    • Should your parent already be overseas, permanent visa options include the 103 and 143.
    • Should your parent already be in Australia, temporary visa options include the 884 which is valid for two years and can not be renewed or extended.
    • Should your parent already be overseas, temporary visa options include the 173. This visa is valid for two years and can not be renewed or extended and has some limitations on application for further visas.

  • Child Visa to Australia

    • Should your child already be in Australia, permanent visa options include the  802, 837 and 445. Each visa pertains to a specific set of circumstances such as orphan relative or overseas born children of Australian Citizens.
    • Should your child already be overseas, permanent visa options include the 101, 117, 102 and 445. Each visa pertains to a specific set of circumstances such as orphan relative or overseas adoption of children by Australian Citizens or permanent residents.

  • Other family Visa to Australia

    • Should your other eligible family members already be in Australia, permanent visa options include the 835, 838 and 836.
    • Should your other eligible family members be overseas, permanent visa options include the 114, 115 and 116.
