Tiny plankton and massive currents hold clues to how rapidly the Southern Ocean is changing.

Australia’s ABC TV runs an 8 min story on the Catalyst program. Presenter / Reporter Mark Horstman follows up on new research in the Southern Ocean near Antarctica.

We see a team of scientists from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute exploring changing ocean currents affecting climate, while Dr Donna Roberts and her team at the University of Tasmania measure tiny planktonic snails called pteropods that are 35% smaller and more fragile than 10 years ago.
