The Company

NIS Power and Communications is a diverse and dynamic Australian company with extensive technical construction and maintenance capability in the Power, Electrical and Communications sectors.

Based in the North Coast region of NSW, the company specialises in providing turnkey design, construction and project management solutions. NIS’ clients range from regional enterprises to multi-national companies.

We focus on quality, flexibility and value for money and take pride in meeting our client’s expectations in safely delivering network and infrastructure projects within time frames and on budget. Indeed, NIS has developed innovative techniques, processes and solutions that enable us to deliver projects more cost effectively than larger competitors.

For our 230 lot residential subdivision in Wauchope, we engaged NIS to initially install the NBN infrastructure and in the later stages also the electrical services infrastructure for the estate. NIS were engaged for the design, construction and certification of the finished infrastructure by the relevant authorities. We found NIS to be extremely easy to deal with from the start. The design process seemed seamless, with the relevant design approvals coming easily. NIS were on site whenever we required them, even when construction programmes changed. They worked well with our on site civil team and managed to completed the site works in mimimal time. Once complete the certifications were always received from Essential Energy and NBN Co prior to stage completion and subdivision certificate submissions. We found NIS to be professional, but flexible to our needs and requirements. We have no hesitation is utilising their services for our next project.

The Gateway (Port Macquarie) Pty Limited are owners of the "Port Macquarie Service Centre" located at the junction of the Pacific & Oxley Highways. During 2020 the service centre executed a major upgrade of the roads, parking and electrical infrastructure on-site including the installation of Rapid Fill EV charging stations owned and operated by Chargefox. The scope of this project included locating existing electrical reticulation and in some cases its removal and replacement, both during normal work hours and after hours so as not to disrupt the activities of the centre. During this project, Network infrastructure Services (NIS) were acutely sensitive to the needs of the centre's lessees, visitors and other trades working on-site and managed their component of the redevelopment with great skill and expertise. Gateway was very impressed with NIS's interaction with our civil and electrical contractors and consultant team, their professionalism and their ability to stay on programme. The result for the property owner is a significant uplift in capacity and visitation to the service centre.
