How
I see it
As
an artist, I bring fresh vision to any interior landscape, using
the room as a canvas to realise functional space with precision,
passion and imagination.
I'm
always innovating. I never do the same thing twice which is thrilling
after more than 30 years as a designer/artist. I consider myself
a perfectionist, insisting that nothing is off-the-shelf or preconceived.
Each of my works is totally original, a one off response to the
space, incorporating the needs, ideas and imagination of my clients.
My work, while vibrant and often playful, always works. The
users, often surprised or challenged, feel relaxed and comfortable.
I
employ a wide variety of media to transform the plain or mundane
to the sublime; an old bathroom becomes a palace of simplicity and
contemplation; an old door, a scorched relief map bordered by sensual
pastel cascade and fronted by cool palms in terracotta pots. A corporate
foyer reflects the company dynamic vision in bold angles and primary
tones.
When
I stand in a room limitations are seen as possibilities and restrictions
become freedom. No space is too small, large, new, old, damp, cramped
or difficult.
Style
I've
reached a point where I'm combining all the different genre of design:
postmodernism, traditional English, art deco, minimalism, retro
sixties, east meets west. The result is really eclectic.
My
sculptural style has been reached through a rich background in film,
theatre, fashion and interior design.
Work
I
have a tremendous passion and energy for my work. While my life
doesn't totally revolve around my work, it comes close!
Favourite

I
love all colours, particularly black. I understand and appreciate
colour and use it with absolutely no reservation.
