Marine Power International Pty Ltd has become aware that some primer bulb connections to the primer bulb check valve may have the clamp incorrectly installed. This may cause a bunching or pinching of the material under the clamp causing a leak path for air to enter the fuel system causing a lean fuel condition. This leak path may also create a fuel leak when the fuel bulb is used for priming the engine fuel system.

Mercury Marine has corrected the incorrect clamp installation by replacement of the clamp with a full diameter clamp to the primer bulb to check valve connection. All engines in the serial number range that are under Mercury Marine control have also been corrected. Any engines that will be shipped have been upgraded to the new clamp.

People with an affected engine (as per the above table) should stop using their boat and contact their nearest Mercury or Mariner Dealer who will arrange for the engine to be inspected and rectified at the expense of Marine Power International Pty Ltd.

The boat should not be used until this is done.

Please contact your nearest Mercury or Mariner Dealer who will arrange for the engine to be inspected and rectified at the expense of Marine Power International Pty Ltd.
