“Once of the most beneficial and professional courses I have attended. You get what you pay for, and it is far better to invest in quality for officers to better serve the community. Rich was very knowledgeable and prepared to listen to every participant’s viewpoint and evaluate answers in line with their needs. Excellent mix of theory and practical - 10/10. ” Client Testimonial

Specialised Certifications
Professional developmnet for instructors and innovative agencies

For instructors looking to progress further we offer several specialist certification programs, which build on the fundamental skills presented in the defensive tactics and firearms programs. They provide ongoing development for instructors to hone their skill sets and develop new ideas and strategies. Based on the same core principles underlying all our programs, they explore a wider variety of operational strategies and training methodologies.

ASP Instructor Certification

ASPWe are the only organisation in Australia certified to provide ASP Instructor Certification, the most dynamic impact baton, restraint and flashlight training available. ASP training incorporates devastatingly effective techniques that can be used under actual field conditions, coupled with court defensible procedures that reduce liability whilst improving safety. Thousands of operational personnel have learned first hand that ASP techniques work under the stress of actual street confrontations. The program has revolutionized baton, handcuff and flashlight instruction, and has been implemented by agencies throughout the world, with training being conducted in 102 countries. The ASP Integrated Training Program is easy to understand and provides efficient defensive tactics for personnel without long hours of training. The tactics are quickly learned, easily practiced and readily maintained long after the program is completed and training incorporates drills which simulate the stress of street encounters. As a realistic training program ASP instruction recognises that nothing works 100% of the time, so all ASP training retains the officer's ability to disengage or escalate, and since there are no complicated moves the ASP program avoids the training complexities which often plague other programs. Once certified, participants are prepared to instruct other personnel in operational use of the ASP Baton, Handcuffs and Flashlight for ASP Basic Certification (ABC). Instructor Recertification is recommended every 3 years.     view promo »

Reality-Based Simulation Training

Reality-Based

Knowledge acquisition (when to respond) and skill acquisition (how to respond) are important steps in training correct force response in an operational environment. The crucial next step is the stress inoculation phase of training, where officers apply their knowledge and skills in simulated operational environments, using carefully designed dynamic simulations that encourage real-world decisions in a variety of situations. This program not only educates instructors in how to design and conduct effective simulations, but how to do it safely and professionally.     view promo »
