Rowan Harvey-Martin

Rowan Harvey-Martin is a professional violinist and teacher, and choral director.

Education

Rowan was educated at the NSW Conservatorium High School () and then graduated with honours in violin from the ANU School of Music () followd by study at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York ().

Performance

She is Principal Violin with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra (), is co-Artistic Director and Concertmaster of The Haydn Bande for its 2006 concert series with Geoffrey Lancaster, is leader of The Linnaeus String Quartet. Rowan has experience in the Eastman Virtuosi in New York and The Australia Opera and Ballet Orchestra ().

Conducting

Rowan studied choral conducting with Michael McCarthy and orchestral conducting with Donald Hunsberger at Eastman. Until recently Rowan was Director of the Canberra Boys' Choir. and is currently Director of both The Llewellyn Choir and the Oriana Chorale. Recently, she has performed in the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival ().
