HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I SAVE IF I CONVERT TO LPG AUTOGAS?

Depending on the car you own and the number of kilometres you drive per week and how you drive your car, you may potentially save around $2000 per year. This is based on using 1 tank of fuel per week.

So that the initial investment will take around 8 months to recover, (after you receive the government rebate) (IS IT STILL AVAILABLE AFTER THE BUDGET)

IS LP GAS AS SAFE AS OTHER FUEL SOURCES?

All systems fitted by us have built-in safety features. Through many years of use gas technology, storage has been refined and made very safe through rigorous national and additional state standards and regulations.

WILL I LOSE A LOT OF STORAGE SPACE BY PUTTING THE LP GAS TAND IN MY BOOT?

HOW LONG DOES THE LP GAS CONVERSION TAKE?

At LPGAutopower, we like to allow 2 days for a conversion, as we thoroughly check that your car is working as it should and that the fittings and operation of the gas system is in top condition.

HOW DOES LP GAS AFFECT MY CAR’S PERFORMANCE?

With an Air Valve system you may notice some loss of economy but no significant loss of power. That will be more than offset by the cheaper price of LPG than that of petrol.

Vapour injection systems do not vary in power or performance, while, with a Liquid Injection system your vehicle will gain significantly more power than that of petrol.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THE GOVERNMENT REBATE?

By converting your existing vehicle to LPG you can claim a $1000 rebate from the government if you are eligible.

The claim process usually takes 3-10 working days from submission to receiving the claim in your bank account. We can guide you through the claim process.

IS RUNNING A CAR ON LPG GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?

LPG otherwise known as Autogas is one of the lowest life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of all commercially available alternative fuels. LPG produces 10-15% less CO2 than petrol and 20% less ground level ozone (which is what produces smog and leads to greenhouse gas emissions)- 1/5 air toxin emissions of petrol.

IS LP GAS THE SAME AS DOMESTIC GAS USED IN MY KITCHEN?

LP Gas used in vehicles, known as autogas is a mixture of propane and butane and is a different grade and blend of LPG to that which is used for domestic purposes and therefore cannot be mixed or blended with LPG to be used for BBQ’s.as BBQ gas is composed only of propane.

DOES LP GAS DO ANY DAMAGE TO MY CAR’S ENGINE?

LP Gas burns cleaner than petrol with no residual carbon deposits which is better for your engine.

If you start your engine on petrol in the morning to maintain the lubrication, the injection system will continue to do this automatically once you change over to gas for the day.

To ensure the best performance and life for your engine the cooling system and engine components will need to be taken care of. Vehicle services are recommended to be conducted every 10,000 kms.

DOES LP GAS CONVERSION REQUIRE ANY EXTRA SERVICING?

Once the first gas service is done at 1000 kms your car will require further gas services be repeated at every 10,000km or at 6 monthly intervals.
